Muholland Drive
I was Muholland Drive last nite and my head still hurt. WTF is that movie about? I knew David Lynch is way out there, but this is way way out there.

The way it was explained to me is that the movie is a dream, up until shortly before the end. That's why everything seems overexaggerated and doesn't make any sense. There's a part where the two women are making out on the sofa and it switches from dream sequence to reality -- one of them has a coffee mug, but it turns into something else, one of them is suddenly wearing a different shirt. I think it's something that I'd have to watch again to really understand what parts are dream and what parts reality, and I really didn't like it enough to do that.
I thought it was kinda dumb . . . the only way you could possibly tell what the point of the movie was is if someone explained it to you. Theoretically there are "clues" that should hint at the fact that it's a dream, but I think they're not nearly obvious enough.
I'm sure there are websites out there that explain it in great detail.

i really like movies that don't physically work out, that leave holes. i don't remember too much about this movie, but i think i remember that there were some real holes in it...it makes you think about it, and is left up to interpretation.

Hey Corey, welcome back. I got the movie till the Lesbian scene. After that, although I was pretty happy, I pretty much lost the whole thing.

From what I could remember, the movie is a dream. It's the recollection of the psycho girl in the way she had WISHED it would happen...
But you have to pay attention to figure out what is "real" and what is "fake."

There was a really good article a long time ago on Salon.com about it. That cleared things up for me, but I forgot now. I am not good with links, but if you try a search there, you may come up with it.

I really liked this movie, but I admit that I still don't fully get it. I usually like movies that provoke conversation and make you think - unless it's been a super long day and then I just want to veg.
I think my favorite of the recent odd movies was Memento or Vanilla Sky... love those two!

I thought the movie was awesome, I got it for a present on DVD and just watched it a few nights ago.
The way I figured it, and from what I've heard - it's a dream. Diane is dreaming what life would be like if she was an actress who made it on her own (like Betty - the same actress plays both characters if you'll notice), and if Camilla really loved her, and was not just fooling around with her.
I thought the movie was extremely well-acted - Naomi Watts was excellent playing the Diane/Betty dual role.

I saw about 45 minutes of it this past weekend. Did the girl commit suicide? Who was the old couple that came from under the door to traumatize her?
It was kind of twisted.
