Unhappy Another chapter closes

This is such upsetting news to hear the Theta Alpha chapter at Cornell University is closing. Some of my dear friends in this chapter told me..didn't hear the details, but they are all extremely upset.

Best wishes to all the Chi O's, and I hope the chapter can come back stronger than ever in a few years.

hope ya'll don't mine me posting!

Quite sad indeed...Cornell was the first school that I saw greek life at and knew a few girls that were in the XO chapter there. I wonder how their FR went this spring?
Funny, my boyfriend was invited by one of them to a formal around his birthday so I stepped in, went up to visit instead

I don't think she ment anything by her comment...she was just posting how someone from the same chapter we're talking about asked her boyfriend to formal and she visited instead.

No harm done.

I do think it's sad to hear about chapters closing. I know that we open new ones every couple of years but it's the history that is being lost between the members of that chapter and the organization as a whole. We have no idea what happened but it had to be for good reasons...nationals doesn't just pull chapters for no reason.

I'm sorry if you thought I was rubbing it in your face - that was not at all my intention.

My intention was to make Chi O's on this board aware of a chapter that is closing, so that they could offer some encouring words. Having a chapter close has to be difficult to extremely difficult to deal with, and I thought if I posted maybe someone on this board would send the Theta Alpha chapter some love.

Like I said, some of my dear friends are in the chapter and the situation surrounding their closing is unfortunate. They were a great group of girls, and I'm so sorry they have to go through this.

Thanks Angel, I can't imagine how those girls feel.

Theat Alpha, you are in our hearts.

Yes, this was a topic of conversation in our Chi O community......always sad to hear about a chapter closing (ANY chapter.) I hope nobody took offense at this being pointed out, because hey, it happens. I think the only thing that was questionable was the heading "ANOTHER chapter closes....." that could be construed as implying that we lose chapters on a regular basis......but then I don't know where anyone would get that idea since we all know that is hardly the case!
