Paying Respect

You know, when you go on your journey to become a member of any organization you learn a lot of things. After gaining this knowledge you begin to feel as though you know something, but always remember you don't know more than those older than you. My grandmother used to always say, " I didn't live 50 years for nothing. I do know SOMEthing. It never really dawned on me until I read some things here.

I just wanted to take the time out to pay respect to 2 men of this fraternity. Bro. Strawter and Bro Darden (dardenr). Although they are as different as night and day in some ways and very identical in others both of these brothers have inspired me and mentored me and encouraged me to be the brother that I am today. I would not be in this frat if it were not for Bro Darden and Bro Strawter has helped me with the bittersweetness of being in any organization. Even though I am a brother now, I will always remember where I came from and treat them with the respect that they deserve as my elders. Never get so big with yourself and with what you are doing that you forget who brought you there or where you came from.

Thumbs up I agree

I agree with you 100% about respecting those that paved the way for you... I personally cant wait until the former Delta Phi Chapter( JCSU) gets it together and accepts us and comes to help us.

Thank you Attractive!

I've got to add that paying respect never ends.....

Brother Damani is a Zeta Phi Alumnus who has been with both Zeta Phi AND Mu Alpha Brothers since the beginning of ZP's rechartering process. Never underestimate him or take him for granted....I learn something more about APO, Zeta Phi, life, and even myself EVERY single time I visit him. And he always has time for me.

Because of his years in the Fraternity, as well as his wisdom, I will always gladly defer to him.

continued thanks

I posted my gratitude on Mu Alpha's guestbook, but I guess it is only fitting to put it in the public forum as well...
But I would like to thank Mu Alpha for reaching out to Howard University and once again exposing to the campus Alpha Phi Omega as well as all of the Zeta Phi alum that made it so that I could be here, and a lot of gratitude to R. Darden, because honestly if it wasn't for you and the earlier guidance we wouldn't have been able to maintain.
Thanks to My Advisor Big Bro Dean Keene. He has always had an open door and he knows that he was a great deal of help to the Zeta Phi Petitioners.
But the learning never ends, and I hope that now that I am brother I can learn all that there is about being a Brother of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity.
And to Rashid....PHI QUE!!
