RANT about your BOSS

I know we have a lot of rant threads and I was too lazy to see if any were about bosses so I started my own.
I have 2 jobs after months of searching. One job is prepaid legal. Basically I work under this guy and he sends me leads. I call these people and explain preapaid legal. It's not telemarketing (thankfully) because these people wanted to hear about prepaid legal. Anyway I had to get another phone line and get my internet to be the one that is not dial up. So I've been waiting for that. So I officially start tomorrow. Well this guy, I'll call him, Sam, calls me everyday. He talks to me for atleast 40 min. 99% of the time it is repetive. Yes, I have a young sounding voice, but I'm not an idiot and I have worked with phones before. He's driving me out of my mind. I really don't want to spend time on the phone with him. I need the money so I don't want to tell him I don't want to do it because 1) he's the son of my mom's boss 2) he already paid my associate fee so I didn't have to

Lovely thread, sadeyes

My boss has no clue how to treat me and the two other girls that work for him. One minute, he acts like "Hey! We're all buddies! Hangin' out and doing a little psychological research!" and the next, he's Mr. Rulebook. However, there is an overriding theme of unprofessionalism. He touches us way too much, he asks nibby questions about gynocologists, inquires way too often about how much things we buy cost.......ugh!!!

Plus, he's a huge snob. He makes mucho bucks a year and his wife is a buyer for a very upscale store. Everything my coworkers & I buy, wherever we go to eat, whatever we do on the weekends, is cheap and ridiculous to him. He even makes fun of where we grocery shop! Well, Mr. Boss, if I had your cash, I wouldn't have to shop at the Gap, eat at chain restaurants, and search for free things to do on the weekends. And if having money makes me like your hoity-toity ass, I'm happy where I am! So nyah!

I have had several bosses who just refuse to treat me as a professional. They want to micromanage every single little thing I do... I think a lot of managers equate "young" (and possibly also "female" - I am in a male-dominated field) with "inexperienced", "immature", and/or "stupid". (Yes, you can be young and experienced, just as you can be older and inexperienced (career change, for example)).

MoxieGrrl, that sounds suspiciously like sexual harassment...

I don't have a boss right now, but my last boss was sooooooo nosy!!!!

I worked in a residence hall, and it had a small staff. This lady was up in everyone's business. Like one time one of the RA's switched hours because of a doctors appointment, and she [the hall director] was asking all the other RA's if they knew what was going on and why the RA was going to the doctor. Like if it's any of her business! If they wanted the Hall Director to know they would have said something. She would also ask her RA's about the personal lives of other RA's.. once again not her business. I also hated the way she had this really fake smile and would be like "oh! it's so nice to see you again!" hehehe..yea, right. She was really fake and talked about all the RA's behind their backs! She really seemed like a nice lady when I met her my freshman year, but once I worked in her hall, I realized what a crazy she is. I'm SO glad I don't work for her anymore!

OK, fresh from her starring role in the STFU thread, I give you...my boss!

She can never answer important questions. She's never there when there is a crisis and is impossible to reach. She's completely clueless about many aspects of our department (if I got hit by a bus and she had to do my job, she wouldn't know where to begin). She got promoted over people with more seniority who were way more deserving. She has her "favorites" and the rest of us are like the kids who didn't get picked for the team in high school. She talks behind people's backs. She thinks looking cute and giggling lets you get away with anything. And the topper - she needs to wake up to the fact that she is in Pittsburgh - THE STEEL CITY, MOFO - now and get de-prissified from her previously prissy place of existence.

Damn, did that ever feel good. The suckiest thing is my boss before her was an absolute angel from heaven.

Okay so the computer people came to install the nondial up internet, yeah well my parent's computer is too ghetto and the speed is too low to get instant internet. So I called my booss, then he calls me back and says oh you don't need instant access. OOOOOKKKKKAAAAAYYYY so I could have started last week!!!! He was freaking out because he needed me, but I had to wait for the cable internet to be installed and I didn't even need it.
Then today I got kicked off the computer and he tells me on the phone oh that may be a problem, if you can't stay online that's why the cable internet is better.
