I was initiated on a spring line five years ago and I was already on line weeks ago by this time. My chapter sent letters to individuals who did not make line so they know, however, it may not be a practice in place by the chapter on your campus. Are you close with any of my sorors on your campus?

I appreciate everyones input on this matter. To my knowledge none of the prospects has heard anything as well. I understand that becoming a members of the first and finest isn't an overnight process however I have friends at different schools and the attended rush before or atfer me and they either are on line, has recieved a reject letter or crossed....I'm the only one out of my friends that is in the dark. All I want to know is if I made line or not.

I am also aware that we are not suppose to talk to each other. For the first couple of weeks we didn't talk that much to each other but since its taking so long we went back to how we used to be.

Thanks again for all of your help and input.

My grandmother always said that "patience is a virture". Believe me I know that the anticipation of waiting to see if you've made it or not can be agonzing but you have to keep in mind that we have a process as to how we do things in Alpha Kappa Alpha and although women on other campuses may have already received their confirmations/rejections, keep in mind that all chapters are different and also university/college's regulations also come into play when we are notifying our prospects. So just be patient and for now focus on what you came to school for (your degree)so that if you do make line one day your grades will be TIGHT. Finally keep in mind, if it was meant to be, it will be--GOOD LUCK--I hope you hear soon!

Red face

Your situation sounds strange to me. From all the women who attended your rush did anyone get a letter?

Understand that becoming an AKA is NOT an overnight process. Things do take time. It is possible that the undergraduate chapter may have come across some unforseen problems that they could not avoid, and as a result, could not do intake as early as they want to. Be patient. Spend this time learning more about the sorority, the chapters and the members. I'm sure that they want to be able to give you answers, however, they probably can't give what they don't have.

It took almost 5 months after my rush to become an AKA....and believe me, I was on pins and needles. Also understand that there is not to be a great deal of interaction amongst prospectives and chapter members between rush and intake.

I am in the same situation as AnyDayNow. It has been approximately over a month since the rush here at my school and the prospects still have not been notified of anything. WOuld you suggest that we speak to the graduate advisor and see if we need to just give up on having a line here this semester or just try to wait it out? Is this a normal occurance??
