My first country bar experience!!!!

Hey all you peoples out there who are very much a part of "southern life"

I live in Miami, Florida where cowboys are not the norm....

of course I have a major interest in southern life, it has become somewhat of an obsession lately, reading all about it, etc etc. especially Phi Mu history which has alot of southern ties....

Well of course, My boyfriend just happens to be a cowboy in his little truck, and cowboy boots and hat. hes soooo cute!!!

ANYWAYS...he took me yesterday about a 45 min drive north to this bar called the roundup, which is a cowboy bar....well thats what i called it..the cowboy bar...

there were people dancing to country music and boys in tight jeans and cowboy hats EVERYWHERE!!!

I think it was GREAT!!!! I even learned how to do the two step, mind you i probrably did it horrible...but my boyfriend and his sister and friends would never let me know it

It was kinda a culture shock but I loved it!! I think when I graduate I will need to move myself a little farther up north, to get the full experience...

Just wanted to share my little cowboy bar experience....

Country Bar Experience

I will never forget my first venture into a country & western bar. It was somewhere down at Texas A&M in College Station TX. I was visiting for a football game. Some huge cowboy basically let me ride on his boots while trying to teach me how to two-step. I was completely out of my element. But it sure was a lot of fun.

I had the greatest time in my one and only country bar experience. It was in Tucson for a bachelorette party. They played dance music and country music. I had such a blast!!!

Country bars can be fun...so is two stepping--if you have a good partner. At the very least you usually have a bunch of cute guys in tight Wrangler, boots and hats all around you.
How's this for growing up in the country---we were required to learn the 2-step and basic square dancing calls in 9th grade P.E. class.

YES!!! I do not know where my fascination with cowboys came from, but I think they are sooooooooooooooo CUTE!!! There aren't many at my school at FIU, where its mostly a commuter school with alot of people from this area, BUT at UM ( Miami Hurricanes ) there are alot more diverse boys, as well as students from all over the country.....thats where my boyfriend goes to school where ironically all his friends are cowboys too..

HMMMMM cowboys in hats and boots, and wranglers... sooo sexy! lololol i think i need to move to somewhere other than Miami to see more boys like this

i went line dancing last semester with a bunch of friends. i absolutely despise country music but i went for the experience. MAN... it was a blast. I didn't know the first thing about line dancing and just sorta followed everyone's feet. I got trampled a few times by my girl friends but it was so much fun and a great work out. And i am convinced there is a line dance for every pop song ever made.
the guys on that night weren't all that great but it was a fair mix. i was surprised to see some skater guys in there, who were cute.

Chideltjen, you'd love the Brandin Iron in SoCal... it's a country club, but there are so many hot skater/college/preppy/etc boys (and yes, some cowboys, lol) that go there... it's amazing. I know there's a few people on the threads that inhabit the place, as I do every Wednesday night, and they can vouch for me... if you're ever in Riverside/San Bernardino county for something- GO... definitely worth the trip...

I grew up in the country on a farm in a small town. In high school which had a pop of 250, the cowboys there.........awwww man they had the wrangler asses going on.
Seriously my dream guy would be a real cowboy who was a firefighter and played baseball. Gosh darn, he would be hot.....
Oh I love seeing a guy in faded wranlgers in the right places, cowboy boots, and a hat, and even the ones that wear baseball caps, look good too.
There is guy at school, whose wears wranglers, the hat, and boots, the whole deal......... I just stop and look when he goes by cuz he looks good. LOL

My sister loves country music, bars, and dancing. She used to go to a place called Denim and Diamonds. She loved it. Country music and dancing in New York City. It closed down awhile ago. She misses that place.
