Madrid Agrees to Buy Beckham From Manchester United, Sky Says
June 17 (Bloomberg) -- Real Madrid, which has already put together the most expensive team in soccer, agreed to buy Manchester United midfielder David Beckham for as much as 35 million euros ($41.3 million), Sky News reported citing Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.
Madrid will pay an initial 25 million euros for the captain of England's national soccer team, plus another 10 million based on the player's and the Spanish club's performances, the report said. Madrid will pay the fee in five installments.
Telephone messages left at Real Madrid and Manchester United offices weren't immediately returned.
