Question any suggestions?!!!

hi! i'm not an alpha phi, but i really want to be one! i've completely fallen in love with alpha phi and the incredible bond that a*phi's have with each other! i've contacted the local alumnae chapter and corresponded through email with a couple of people about my interests and maybe attending some events and everyone seemed excited to talk to me. that was maybe two months ago and I haven't heard anything since! does anyone have any suggestions for me? any ideas about what i should do?!!!

thank you so much!!

Hi txtiger, welcome to the forum!

Are you a prospective alumna initiate? I'm guessing from your post that you might be. If so, I don't see anything wrong with a follow-up letter to your contact to express your continued interest in supporting Alpha Phi and in attending upcoming events.

Best of luck to you!

thanks for responding so quickly sistermadly! i really appreciate your advice!

i am indeed a prospective alumnae initiate. last week i sent both of the people that i had been talking to a nice email about my continued interests, so i'm hoping i hear something soon! the sudden stop in communication has kind of scared me though, everything had been going pretty smoothly until i recieved an email from the person who's trying to start up a local ivy connection. she asked why i was interested in alpha phi, who had told me about it, and why i didn't join as an undergraduate (i'm working on a master's/doctoral degree right now). i thought my answers were pretty good, but since i've not heard from anyone, i can't help but wonder that maybe they don't want me! Hopefully i'll hear from someone soon!

thank you again!

Don't worry about being ancy! I am an alum initate and i think i wrote the book on being to over anxietic( if that is a word). These awesome sisters of mine will tell you that...right SATX.....hehheehhe
There will be times when it goes quiet but don't panic. Your wishes have been heard and now it is the wait and see period of this process.
I say do some follow up letters. Not a lot of Alum Chaoters realize AI. I was pretty quick. I met my former alum chapter in which i initated with in June of last yr and i was initated with fall class in Nov.
I say some don't fully know about AI though AI has been around since teh beginningof Alpha Phi. I am VP of Membership(tentiviely until offical elections) and i will tell you the ladies in my chpt didn't know about AI and i have been versing them on this process.

Speaking of AI my name was in the "Quarterly" yeah!

laura
PS...PM me if you have any questions
