Help on recruitment?

OK, we're like the smallest among the PHA sororities in our campus and the only ASA chapter in Maryland. Any ideas on how to increase our numbers and basically get our name out there?

Welcome to the ASA forum!!! There are not a lot of us on GC so we love to see more sisters come and visit.

Do you need help w/ formal rush, COB, or both? To just get your name out there...Wear letters, jackets or whatever else you have to class as often as possible. Make sure sisters are involved in activities other than ASA so they are getting out and meeting new people.

I think there is a national presentation on improving rush....have you had that?

Maybe I'm not the best one to be giving Recruitment Advice since my chapter's closed but here goes:

Go to campus services and see if they can print up mailing labels for all girls in the dorms who hold the right GPA and are not already Greek....I don't know about your Student Services, but ours did it for free...then send them all fliers for interest parties (if this is for COB)


I don't know about your chapter, but from what I've seen...ASA's tend to be umm....not typical soroity girls...use that to your advantage...find the girls that the other sororities typcially wouldn't recruit.....

the national presentation, were you talkin bout something like the sorority breaks into groups and bring in people? we had somebody come in and give us a presentation like that. i totally forgot what it was called, but it was definitely recruitment-related. as for needing help, not only for formal, but also COB. if we could initiate 5-7 quality girls, that'd be fabulous. well, wish us luck!

I have a few things to keep in mind...

1. A smile goes a long way! Play nice and remember that your reputation plays a big part in the reputation of the org.

2. PR! PR! PR! There is no such things as too much PR. Just make sure it is tasteful, not tacky, and true!

3. Ask other orgs at your campus how they recruit find out what works and what doesn't.

4. Remember to always look presentable when wearing letters. A good ASA is a classy ASA.
