Don't you just hate it when people make assumptions that you will be giving up your time to go do something you never signed on to do??
My husband was recently asked to be our temple's liaison to some Jewish org in our area. He didn't particularly want to do it, but he signed up because he wants to be on the temple's board. Ok, fine, he can do what he wants.
So someone came up to me yesterday and said, "Oh, I'm so glad you're coming in tomorrow to make some phone calls." WTF?? This is the first I've heard that the telethon
exists, never mind that they think I'm giving up my Sunday to work it! Then she says "I'd heard that <my husband's name> and his wife were going to be helping out." She didn't even know my name.
Add to this, that my husband hadn't heard about this telethon either, nor had he been asked to participate.
If they had thought to ASK me before making assumptions... well, I probably still would've said no to actually making phone calls, but I would have found some other way to help out. Now, I have zero desire to do anything for them in any way, including financially.
Can you tell I'm p!ssed.....
