True blue old chums!
I was in Kansas City last weekend for a quilting retreat. I took an evening away from that to have dinner at the home of one of my chapter sisters. Alex and I pledged the same night, were initiated together, and sat next to one another in chapter meetings. I was her maid of honor, too, and that particular evening was their 27th anniversary -- his gift to her was a dozen red and buff roses!
Mari-Anne, who is Alex's sister-mother, was a guest at dinner (along with her new-to-us boyfriend). We hadn't all three been together since my wedding in 1980.
Alex and Randy gained a daughter-in-law and a grandson this year. It turns out that the DIL is an Alpha Gam, from Epsilon Beta.
"...to cherish friendships with but a chosen few and to study the perfecting of those friendships..." How true this is, now that I write from the vantage point of 30 years!
