Favorite Fraternity?
Hey Girls, what fraternities do you like best on your campus? What fraternities does your chapter hang out with the most?
For me, I am parital to the Delt Sigs and Lambda Chis. I also like the Phi Sig Phis and Delts a lot too. A lot of our sisters hang with the Delts and Lambda Chis.

My fave is Phi Sigma Kappa all the way. They are really great guys and so nice! At U of M, however I am really tight with the Sig Eps. We have Sig Ep at eastern, but I like the U of M sig eps more.

Okay when I first got to college and before I was in a sorority I loved the Sig Eps. They were so nice and down to earth guys that would do anything for anyone. But they have changed a lot. They have become very pretentious and more on the "we are better than everyone" type. I am still friends with all the older members though. I am dating a guy in Farmhouse right now (does anyone else have them?). They are really nice guys. They are the "country boy" type. Good ole boys who would help a lady out anytime. They even take etiquiette classes during their pledgeship. They always walk closest to the street when with a woman and always in front of her while going down steps and behind her when going up. I also love the Lambda Chi's. They are really nice guys, but they are a little more on the hard partying. I still like them, though! They have always been fun to be around and have a great bond. My sisters also hang out with Phi Delta Theta a lot. The other fraternities on my campus. well:
Kappa Alpha Order- never see them, never really talk to them
Sigma Chi- Are getting smaller and I only know about their parties through other friends. They hang out almost exclusively with KD at my school.
Sigma Nu- I really don't know but two of them and they are REALLY SMALL at our school. Actually I don't ever see them doing anything. They don't participate in Greek Week or anything.
SAE- I know some that are nice but they have been really rude to me personally (actually just two of their members). One of my sisters was dating one but that ended as did any AGD/SAE relations.
PIKE- They are okay. Some are nice, some are jerks. They are getting so big. The only problem we've had with them is when our sisters go running they throw beer bottles at them (along with other passerbyers).
Alpha Gamma Rho- I don't know any but I hear good things about their group. None of my sisters hang out with them.
Delta Tau Delta- they are across the street from us and their is no relations with them... period. They asked to borrow our lawn mower once. That is about it!
That is all of em... 11 fraternities. I also wonder, who do you all have rivalries with (sororities). We have one with Phi Mu. AOPi and us don't get along well either, but I don't know any sorority that gets along with them at my school.
What do you think about other greeks at your school in general?
Just curious!

Us and the TKEs are really close on my campus...probably because we're the only nationals on campus!
We've made attempts to mix with the other fraternities on campus, but things didn't really work out. There was an incident where some of our girls and their roommates attended a party at the Kappa Epsilon Theta house. One of the KEO brothers made an offensive remark and one of the girls (the non-AGDs) took her Corona and poured it all over him. Though she wasn't an AGD, it still looked bad on us because she was our guest. The president politely asked us to leave, and since then our relationship with them has been strained.
On the other hand, we get along great with our TKE brothers and we have many things in common. One of them being their crest that Emily Helen Butterfield designed... They've been so helpful to us in the past year, especially with recruitment!
We're not included in the Inter-Sorority Council on my campus primarily because we're not local, but we're fine with that. We conduct rush differently, and our new member programs are completely opposite (ifyaknowwhatimean). Out of the 5 local sororities, 3 of them do well in Rush. I'm not big on rumors, but many girls have come up to me and said that the locals tend to ignore us because we bring in a good number of girls each semester. All I have to say is..."WHATEVER!"
But still, to improve Greek relations, we try to make every effort necessary to keep things cordial. That is why we're organizing every GLO on campus to participate in the first ever Greek Fair at Student Housing during the first week of Fall semester. I'm so excited I can't wait!

Ilovemyglo, as far as rivalries go, we don't really have any big ones. A lot of us dislike the Delta Zeta because they rip off our greek week skits every year (grrrrr!!!) but most of their girls are nice albeit a bit too gossipy. We also kinda make jokes about the Tri Sigmas because they are the "Barbie Doll" type sorority but they are decent...they just sort of segregate themselves from the other sororities.

since i dated a Theta Chi for a long time, i became really tight w/ all of the brothers... most of them are like big brothers to me! it is definitely my favorite place to party since i feel so comfortable there.. even after we broke up, the brothers still treated me w/ the utmost respect. i think of them as the best on campus... all very good looking guys.
our sorority in general used to hang out w/ phi taus a lot back in the day.. we just did greek sing w/ them this year and won first place, so we hung out w/ them a lot at the end of the year... they used to be THE fraternity for about a year, but that died down rather quickly b/c they weren't getting very good pledges.
a lot of AGDs also love:
delts--a few sisters date them, they are fun guys i guess, i don't know a lot of them... but the try to give off a reputation that they are tough.. a lot of their brothers are always getting in fights
sig chi--a few sisters date them too, and they are really awesome guys. they are all down to earth and great to party w/. one of my pledge sisters just got laveliered(sp?) by one of the brothers!
phi delts--mostly the younger sisters like to hang out there, although a lot of us "older" sisters don't really like phi delts b/c one of them was accused of raping one of our sisters.. i don't go there in support for her. plus, they just got busted a few months ago for having a huge bag of about a million pills of ecstacy in their house... big druggies.. it was all over the news.
ATO--these guys are great (w/ the exception of a few bad seeds). they have the biggest house on campus and always have really fun parties and mixers.
well, sorry this explanation of the top fraternities on campus is so long...
how are other frats at your schools???
OTW--we used to have TKEs too, and they were our "brother" fraternity... the older girls always hung out w/ them... but they wre kicked off campus when a girl dies in their house of alcohol poisoning a few years back, then a lot of them went to phi delts. when they had parties, the TKEs used to have a scale and a weight/height chart outside of the house... and if you weren't in your weight range, you weren't allowed in... i guess they can't be nice at ALL schools, huh?
AGD love and mine,
tatianna

I would have to say my fave was FIJI when they were here. But I like the guys in Sig Chi and Beta here at Michigan. However as a house we hand with Theta Xi and Delta Chi.

We, in terms of the entire chapters general feeling do have probs with DZ b/c of greek week as leslie said, but I do get along with all of them very well and most of my non agd sorority friends at EMU are DZ and SDT. But, they did rip off of us which was annoying. However, I would gennerally think our rivalry would lie more with Tri-Sigma b/c of the poor greek image they sometimes exude, more than DZ. I also completely agree with you, UM Girl, before Fiji left campus they were my favorite fraternity at Michigan. Where is the DChi house at Michigan? I've never been there or noticed it. Do you ever do anything with TEP seeing as they are across the street?

I personally love Kappa Sigs...even after graduating I have remained friends with some of them. They were always great guys to hang around with. Sisters also tended to hang out with TEP and AGR a ton (as we do a lot with them, also). My freshman year the older sisters were very tight with MUD, but something happened between the older brothers and sisters, and we never go there anymore. It seems that even though I was part of a huge Greek system, every sorority had "their" fraternities thay hung out with, and very rarely was there crossing over those lines...which to me is sad.

OK, I'll be strung up if I don't answer this correctly. It would HAVE to be Sig Ep, seeing as how I married one last year! Seriously, though, most of the Sig Eps on campus were quite the gentlemen. Many of them will be our lifelong friends.

"RUSH MUD" or We like to play with MUD! Imagine mixer shirts!!! HAHAAHAHA!!!!!! Sorry, I just never heard of them before.
!!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!!
PS Greeklaw- I dated two Sig Eps but they are the older members and I am still really good friends with them and most of the guys who joined before 2000. I miss them all, but they have all graduated Thankfully we still keep in touch some though

My fave fraternity is TKE, only because I'm lavaliered by one. (for over a year!) The TKE chapter here isn't so bad, but hanging out isn't my thing, so I don't have too much of an opinion on the matter. (Besides, he graduated this spring) A few of our sisters are hard core hangouts there.
I used to be lavaliered to a member of Phi Delta Theta, and used to know everything about them. My big brother (not REALLY related, more like a best friend) works for Phi Delt GHQ, so they are still one of my faves. Can't go wrong with a fraternity that includes Colby from Survivor!! lol

I can't help it, I love my Alpha Gamma Rho boys! Second to ilovemyglo on dating farm boys. I used to date one, but now I still hang out with 'em. Gotta love boys that are nice, can work all day, and still play all night. And, John Deere tractors are kinda cute!
