Question Graduation!

I posed a similar question in the Zeta forum and thought I'd open it up to everyone. Of the seniors graduating this spring, what are your plans? Are you scared or excited??

And on that note, I graduate in exactly 2 MONTHS from yesterday! Woo hoo!

I'm graduating in May, and am pretty excited to be done with school - I'll miss my friends and all that, but I'm glad to be done with school and be moving on with things.

I'm going to stay in Boston, and have applied for jobs in a variety of places...hoping to get a job in the print media or publishing field, but I'm open to whatever.

ksigkid - from what i hear the print media/publishing here in boston is, well, not doing too well. that's why when i finish in may i'm heading back to los angeles. i can make twice as much and pay about 2/3 for rent!

you could always work for the phoenix though.

I graduate in May also. Not real sure where I go from there. We'll see though.

I'm graduating in a little over 2 months from now. I'm excited about graduating because I'm ready to move on; sad to leave my sisters and good friends; and scared and stressed about not finding a job.

I have always said that I want to move out to Cali after graduation, but that may not be possible if I can't find a job! However, I know some people just move out to the west coast or wherever they want to go, w/o having a job, and then end up doing fine once they get out there. That's pretty brave, but it's something I may consider since I want to get away from the east coast.

My dream job is to be a casting director for movies/tv shows, hence the reason I want to move out to Cali. We'll have to wait and see what happens...but in the meantime, I'm definitely stressin!

Right now I'm just trying to remember to go to class everyday!! My lil sister graduates from high school in May too, so me, her, and my mom are going to St. Croix for a week to celebrate in June. And in August I'm off to Vanderbilt for law school and she's going to UTK for undergrad. So thankfully I don't really have to worry about the job market for a few years.

I graduate on May 18th I'm very happy but I'm also sad because I won't get to be around my friends as much. I also will have to start acting like a responsible adult. My plan is to go to grad school at the same school I'm at now to receive my MBA. After that, hopefully I can move down south and find a job.

I graduate in a little over 2 and a half months...and I'm trying to enjoy my college experiences as much as possible. I'm completing my thesis, but when it's done in a month, I'll be able to party like a rock star (even more than I am now). I'm going to grad school, so I will hopefully be avoiding the job market. I do have some backup jobs lined up.

Bottom line--I don't wanna grow up! I'm living phat now and I don't wanna change a thing. I won't, however, be one of those super duper seniors, I'm definitely graduating!

I graduate on May 3. I am soooooo scared. I won't miss the school work but I'll miss all my friends and the social scene. Currently, I'm looking for a job but the market sucks right now. I've had some interviews but they're for jobs where the pay isn't that great and the work will not be fun. People say "take what you can get in this economy" but I can't help but think I went to college for 4 years and I shouldn't have to take a job that I could've gotten right out of high school. The due date for my MBA application to UCF's business school is June 15 so I'm seriously considering that.
I'm scared of growing up. College is so much fun. I'm scared I'll get into the real world and get a job that takes over my life and then I'll end up being boring like my parents.

I'm graduating in May--scared though because I don't have a job. I'm too busy to be looking for one! I know it sounds stupid, but I am really busy. I want to move out to Hawaii and get a job there... yeah that's in my dreams. But hey, you're supposed to follow your dreams, right? It's always been my goal to move out to California after graduation, but everything is all up in the air. I don't want to leave college!

Well, I suppose I should answer my own question.

I am sooooo stoked about graduating! I am going to grad school on the west coast. At my two top choice schools, I got into one and found out yesterday that I didn't get into the other - so it looks like I am definitely going to UC Santa Cruz! Aw yeah.

I will definitely miss Charleston. It's an amazing city, so much fun, and the people are great. As far as my sorority sisters, mainly the only people I am going to miss are other graduating seniors. (That's because we're the last of a dying breed in our chapter. My pledge class and the girls older than us joined our chapter because we WEREN'T the annoying, stereotypical, pearl-wearing, Gucci-bag carrying sorority girls that typify most chapters at my school. But the past few recruitments...well, let's just say I asked my best friend, "When did we turn into [insert our rival's name here]?" Is that mean? Does that make me a bad person to be fed up with my chapter??? I hope not.)

My only fear concerns my boyfriend. He has offered to go to Cali with me, which is so amazing of him. He graduates from Clemson in May with a marketing degree. But he is having a super hard time finding a job in the Central Coast area, and his parents are NOT supportive of him moving to Cali. I am just scared that he'll go home for the summer and then never leave New Jersey. I mean, that's a little too long distance, ya know? So we're keeping our fingers crossed...damn crappy job market.

But good luck to everyone!! Not much longer!

I graduate June 14 (yes, i know that sounds late... but we don't start the academic year until October!), and I'm STOKED!!!!! I turned in my application for graduation today and you should have seen the smile on my face! Yeah, it kinda looked like that.

I'll be working for UCR until about August/September of this year (working as a lead for the Orientation Registration Staff again... I'm a lifer), and I've heard a rumor that there's a possibility that I might get promoted... I have no idea for what, or if it's even valid at ALL, but who knows. I'd have to see what the pay is like and decide if it's worth living in Riverside for it... I love my job now, so if I did something similar, I might keep it.

Otherwise, I'll be going to Cal State Hayward in NorCal for my multiple-subject teaching credentials, and who knows what else! I just want to get the hell out of Riverslime!!!

I hear the same thing - a main reason why I'm looking at publishing companies and other related jobs - I've applied to a few in the field, and would really like to remain in Boston - we'll see what happens

After 6 long years at UH-Manoa and 3 majors later, I'm finally graduating on May 18th at 9:00AM.

Because I've been in school for this long, graduate school isn't an option just yet.

I plan to take a nice long vacation in the summer with my best friends [hopefully to Europe or New Zealand] and we'll see what happens after that!
