Travel Tips?
Hey guys, I'm hoping that some of your Cancun experienced people can give me some good advice. My friend and I are trying to do a rickety assed trip to the land of happy sun...and we are quite poor..."poh" actually!
So blah, I found a cheap ass fare to Cancun, and in a guidebook saw this Cabana place in Tulum recommended, called Don Armando's Cabanas, it's like a Mexican version of a hostel, rustic, no electricity. It's nice though cuz it's right on the beach and near Mayan ruins n' stuff. And it's two minutes from the town of Tulum, so we wouldn't be all up in the jungle. Basically, we just want to go somewhere for 2-3 days to lie around in the sun, and have a little bit of an adventure. Is there anyone who has been in the area, and could tell me what to expect, and also safety tips - would we be able to eat there, if not how would we deal with food while there, and is there anything shady, like guerilla armies nearby, that I should know about? I asked one of my sisters who visited the area a few months ago on a cruise trip, and she said it was really nice. Any advice, info, or referrals to research sites would be very helpful! :-)
