LOW funds

please help.... my chapter has NO money. paying dues isnt bringing us any money and we have no fundraising ideas. i hold the sisterhood chair and work closely with the social chair, we find it very hard to plan events (socials/mixers, etc) with little to no money....does anyone have ideas???? what does your chapter do to raise money??? it would be greatly appreciated.

Jenny -

When is the last time your dues were raised? As much as it bites, that might be something you have to do if everyone is paying their dues on time and you are still broke. If there are sisters not paying their dues, that needs to be dealt with immediately.

Do you have an alum chapter near you that can help you out?

Well my chapter is sort of having the same issue except there are a bunch of sisters not paying dues a good bit are MIA for different reasons. Currently our chapter is holding a raffle for a playstation 2. I haven't sold any tickets yet, but I'll probably just buy them myself and so my chapter will get money that way from me. Also, our dues were recently raised and so we aren't quite as poor as we were recently but maybe that would be something that your standards chairman and your treasurer could work out. Our standards board is supposedly starting to crack down on financial matters with sisters. I hopefully won't have any problems but thats just a little of what my chapter (Psi Psi) is doing.
