Red face Grammys!

I have already posted my thoughts in some other forums, I wondered if anyone here watched last night.

Aretha - NO.

Kelly Rowland - NO.

*N Sync - yay.

Ashanti - yay.

Bruce - YAY.

Dixie Chicks - yay, but gawd, the techs could have at least fixed the audio...it's the freakin Grammys

SO much bad fashion. Sigh.

I was flipping between 3 shows. I really enjoyed what I saw. Favorite moment was when that 16 year old new artist-(Something about Your Body is a Playground) introduced JAMES TAYLOR. He referred to him as "the blueprint" and that, he is.
He also has more talent than 90% of the entertainers they had last night. I know you said you liked N'SYNC, but I have to say "OUCH". I felt something run up my spine on some of their harmony...

i thought robin william's comment about the grammy's was pretty funny. when he accepted his award for whatever he got, he put the award up to his ear and said "oh listen, you can hear careers ending!"

and what was up with Kylie Minogue's dress?

OMG - Aretha!!! She looked like she was wrapped in blue cotton candy!!!

I hated Ashanti's performance - DULL!

I didn't think NSync was THAT off. Definitely not at the top of their game, though.

I just thought it was lame. Apparently they were trying to showcase perfromances and not "awards". Um, last I checked, it was an "awards" show! They only showed something like 10 on the televised show - and half of those went to Norah Jones so it got boring listening to her thank everyone (although she did keep them short at least). And there was no performace that I thought was outstanding, or even very exciting. I thought the best was the tribute to the Clash, and I'm not even a fan - just the guys doing it performed well.

Am I the only one who thinks Robin Williams must have been pretty drunk?
I love him, and think he's a very funny guy, but it just wasn't working for him last night. His timing was off and the stuff he said wasn't delivered well. Just everything about watching him made me think he had a little too much champagne!

typical Grammy, giving acknowledgement way after its due. Santana should have won it in the 70s, why haven't the Grateful Dead ever won anything? Why honour Clash now, they help mold the music back in the 70s and 80s. etc. But I guess their musical taste is as good as Milli Vanilli. Have the Talking Head, Sonic Youth, Afrikabambada, George Clinton and P-Funk ever won anything? (I'm really asking)

I missed the Grammys for the most part. I saw the musical tribute to the Clash with Elvis Costello, Bruce Springsteen, etc. They were really good. They are honoring the Clash now because Joe Strummer died suddenly a few months ago.

Ashanti's # was the biggest waste of talent I have ever seen. SO boring!!!

And why did they keep saying John Mayer was 16??? He's like 21 or something. Definitely older than me and I'm 20.

AND, anyone else think Faith Hill was screaming instead of singing?? That was kinda painful to listen to.

John Mayer looked great (love him!!!) and he sounded grea, as usual

He's 25 by the way - he was born in '77 - he sings a song about it

(and if you can't tell, i'm obsessed with him, i love him!!)

My friend does talent escorting at these events and guess who she escorted last night! John! I haven't had a chance to talk to her about it yet. I'll let you know anything exciting that happened - like if he professed his undying love for you!!!

robin williams was off. the whole Trent Lautt and Jesse Helms comment was ill.Was it supposed to be funny with the racist connotations?
What he said about 50 cent was too funny!
paraphrase: 50Cent said he was coming but he cant get through the metal detectors with all that metal in his a**.
It was dirty but too funny!
Ashanti sucked.
Eminem w/the Roots was interesting.I liked it
My BF's dad won one for best Gospel Album. That was cool even though it wasn't televised

I liked the *NSYNC performance the best, but then again I am completely obsessed with them, and therefore totally biased. I did want to attack JC with my scissors tho and chop off about 5 inches of his hair. But damn, how freakin hot did Lance look, YUMMY stuff, whew! That was the only part I watched, the Grammy's just really don't do it for me.
