Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Yeah, it's hard pulling up roots from a place you've grown up in and leaving friends you've known for most of your life. The good thing is that it's so much easier to keep in touch with people via e-mail.

Moving's always stressful... I hate it with a passion but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. If you have a decent job (or are busily pursuing your college major) and can afford to support yourself back in your old location, and have a good support group of friends, then you might want to consider staying put.

My dad was in the military, so when I was a kid I moved around a LOT, including a cross county move from CA to NY. If I had the money to live in CA, I would move right back in a heartbeat! From Northern CA's mountains, to Southern CA's beaches, it is a beautiful state, with so many things to do and see. There are so many great places, San Fran, Napa Valley, San Diego...and the state university system is great. I would highly recommend a move, it might seem like you are being up-rooted, but look at it as the beginning of a new chapter of your life!
