Unhappy Vintage DZ Sister Pin w/ Zeta Chapter guard on ebay

Ladies,

There is a gorgeous vintage DZ pin on eBay, Auction Item #2161905975.

It has a pearl Chapter guard that looks to be from the Zeta Chapter, and the pin has a name and initation date on the back of it from 1925.

Just wanted to let you know so you could get it back!

I love eBay but it makes me sick to see these pins up for auction!

Yours,
Kristen

Thumbs up

Thanks for the heads up! I definitely share your feelings about E-bay and badges.

Unhappy

Thanks for looking out for us

I posted this one on SS, along with the other badges that were up for auction. Unfortunately, I think this vintage one was snagged by a non-DZ

That's too bad about that pin!

We had a sister pin from the 20's (which is VERY vintage for us as D Phi E was founded in 1917) go on ebay for about $200 and I just felt sick--it was teh original design (without the pearls on teh outside; if you know what a D Phi E pin looks like which you probably don't - but will if you go to www.dphie.org ) and it was from one of our single letter Chapters too! Very rare, but also very expensive and I was too poor to bid on it.

Those pins have NO place on eBay; but hopefully whoever bought it is at least a Greek and will understand how important that pin once was to the Sister who wore it!

For Zephyr

Zephyr,

Any of the old DPhiE badges make their way to me. Don't be sick about seeing our badge on ebay, the historically significant ones (of the 1500 possible pre-1948 badges), all come home!!! The one which was up on ebay about 4 months ago is now in my lockbox at the bank with the other 4 old DPhiE badges and about 7 or 8 regular badges, all bought either through ebay or through fraternity pin collectors who have traded them to me. The one on ebay ended the auction early and I put together about $800-$1,000 worth of pins to get it from him. He was happy and so was I.

Someday, I will donate these pins to the sorority.
