An assistant cheerleading coach was charged Friday with criminal sexual conduct after allegedly having sex with three underage girls.
The allegations against 19-year-old Jacob Kelly have nothing to do with the students he helped coach at Eisenhower High School.
Jacob Kelly is the man police had sex with several young girls in January. He was arraigned in court on his eighth criminal sexual conduct charge. Police say it was all a crime of opportunity.
"His sister knew these girls and they were friends of his sister. Obviously over the course of being friends with them, he got to know them also," said Shelby Township Plice Chief Robert Leman.
Two of the victims are 14-years-old and the other is 12. He was an assistant cheerleading coach, but police say the allegations have nothing to do with the former job or students at the school.
He lives in a Shelby Township mobile home park. Kelly allegedly had sex with the young girls in the bedroom while they were at his house for sleepovers with his sister. Police say Kelly's 14-year-old sister knew exactly what was going on.
"There was not alcohol or drugs involved. That there was not any type of force or weapons used in regard to this. we want to get people off the street that behave in this manner," said Chief Leman.
Kelly was out on personal bond, but in court the judge revoked it in part because Kelly's mom allegedly told members of media when they were at the house where one of the victims lives. Now, Kelly he is being held on $205,000 bond.
