Re: Nastiest thing you found in your food
That has happened to me numerous times, with Jiffy Products. Not the worms...but the cobwebs. I don't know what's up with that company...

I started a thread on this once.
But...
I was eating a cooking from a cookie place at the mall...I bit down, started to chew and felt something rock hard in it.
Funny, it was a jagged ROCK! Totally grossed me out. Not to mention it could have broken a tooth because I seriously tried chewing it (not knowing what it was). I cleaned it off, took it back and handed it to them saying "I found this in my cookie". They wanted to give me another, but I just couldn't accept it!

Okay, so this may not be as disgusting as anything you all have mentioned, BUT, the other day I was eating my mom's chicken spaghetti and bit into a very small chicken bone. To me, that was just totally disgusting. Next time chicken spaghetti needs to be made with checken breasts instead of a deboned full chicken.

at bid night one semester, we all went out to chevys.
one of our new girls found what appeared to be a lightswitch knob in her rice. it wasn't really nasty... just really WEIRD!
on the Jiffy muffin mixes... i guess i have just been lucky... but those boxes do look like they survived the 1950s...

I think the worst thing I ever found in my food was a dead fly. But, I have 2 really gross stories about friends of mine:
(1) In the dining hall at college, I was having dinner with a few friends. One of my friends was eating soup (it was cream of mushroom or something similar) and made a horrible face before spitting out a THUMBTACK. We couldn't figure out how it could have possibly made it into his soup. There was a comment board in the dining hall, so he wrote "I found this ----> in my soup" and tacked it up with the thumbtack, which still had a nasty coating of soup on it. So foul!!!
(2) This one is even worse! One day, my friend went to lunch at a restaurant and ordered a salad. About halfway through the salad, she looked down and saw what she thought at first was a weird piece of lettuce. After poking it, she thought "that's strange, this lettuce has eyes...and webbed feet." Turns out that it wasn't a piece of lettuce, it was a DEAD FROG! She jumped up from the table and screamed in the middle of the restaurant, "Oh my god, there is a dead frog in my salad!" before running to the bathroom and throwing up the rest of the salad she had just eaten. She came back and showed it to her waiter and had to ask for her money back (he wasn't going to give it to her at first). The waiter told her that they had just opened up the bag of salad that they used for her's, so who knows how long that dead frog was sitting in that bag of lettuce. Also, she's in law school, so she had a lawyer friend of one of her professors write to the restaurant to see if she could get anything else out of them, but she never heard back from them. My friend loves frogs (has stuffed frogs and frog figurines and frog pictures all over her apartment), and one of her favorite foods is salad, which makes this story even more unfortunate. She didn't eat for about 3 days afterwards and it took her months to be able to eat salads again, but she has to thoroughly examine it before she eats it.

Thats friggan sick. Doesn't matter if its in the food or not, chances are other mice have been on the counter where food was being prepared. Thats probably the grossest restaurant story I've ever heard.
The worst I have ever seen was hair in food, so I guess I'm lucky so far.

One day I went to my brother's soccer game and I bought a slurpie drink from the snack bar. So, I am sitting there sucking on the straw, and when I was almost finished with it, I noticed there was like a brownish thing on the bottom. I still had some left, so i moved it away from this "thing" to see what it was. I had to ask my mom, because I had no clue- turns out... it was a roach's egg! SO DISGUSTING!! I was REALLY surprised that i didnt throw up! I guess they keep the cups in that room where it is probably really warm, and the roaches lay eggs there. EWWW! Just thinking about it is making me sick!

Wow you guys have told some really gross ones! I bit down on what I hope was a small piece of a chicken bone at a Chinese restaurant, and I refuse to ever eat there again!
In the dining hall at the school I went to, someone found a live spider in the salad. Not really that weird when you think about it, but it can definitely ruin one's appetite!
