Love for your city

God I love San Diego. It's January 6, and while the Pacific Northwest is hitting hit by hard rain, and the NorthEast is being hit by snow, it's 84 degrees and sunny. I've gone to the beach almost every day this last week, and everything is great.

So, what do you love about your city?

Compared to other places I've been we have NO traffic problems at all. You can get almost anywhere in the metro in 30 minutes or less. There's stuff to do if you know where to go.

Can't really complain about Oklahoma City.

San Diego is pretty neat -- been there -- but I like seasons.

That's what's neat about Denver -- you can change seasons by driving 50 miles.

Today (1-6-03) it's pushing 60 degrees with sunshing in the city, but great skiing in the mountains.

A fact that we try to keep secret is that Denver averages over 300 days per year of sunshine -- just like SD.

Not as warm here, but that's OK. We get two to three weeks a year average of really cold weather. Otherwise, it's pretty moderate.

The mountains, of course, are a different story.

What can I say about Honolulu??

Like San Diego, it's sunny for most of the year. We've got the trades blowing to cool you down and we have fresh air since we don't have to put up with the congestion like most metropolitan cities. Honolulu's natural beauty is incomparable!

I said it before and I'll say it again -- paradise really is my backyard!

I love New Orleans. We have great people, wonderful food (I have yet to be impressed by the food in any other city), Mardi Gras, and a fairly wam climate. I don't ever want to live anywhere else!

The Big D

I've been in Dallas for over a year now and I got to say everybody should come visit. Today it was around 60. I live about 20 minutes from work so I don't have much of a commute. I live by at least 6 shopping malls and a ton of resturants.

I love Dallas

Weird as it may be, I *love* both places I live! In Columbia, the weather is just right for me, warm most of the time, with a BEAUTIFUL fall season. Set perfectly in between the two major Missouri cities, so it's easy to go to either one anytime I want. The town itself is like College Town USA, totally perfect, the whole place is campus really, and I *love* it!!

As for Omaha, I was born here and lived here most of my entire life, Omaha is very much like a small town, even though there are so many people. It's pretty divided in two four sections, North, South, West, and East (Downtown). I live in West Omaha and here everyone knows everyone ONE way or another, but I love it!

Both places are fun to live, not nearly as exciting as NYC maybe, but if you know how to make your own fun, you will be cool!

Ok so i live in San Antonio right now and although i cant hate on this city i live in i still have to say that my hometown Austin is the best! Great Live music everywhere everynight. The lake to row on, the hike and bike trail to hike or bike on. Its just a cool laid back city where everyone minds their own business. i miss it

Going to school in SoCal, but my heart is in (nice, sane, respectably preppy) NorCal... Sacramento to be exact.

Sacramento isn't too big, nor is it too small... we don't always dress like we're going to go clubbing when we're just going to go to class the way so many girls down here seem to do (of course, nobody in my sorority! )...

And of course, we're the home of the Kings.

XOXO,
Annie.

I LOVE Chicago! I love the friendly people, the seemingly unlimited choice of restaurants, the little ethnic neighborhoods, the posh north side, the culture (Chicago Symphony, the Lyric Opera, the Art Institute, etc., etc) the SHOPPING, the beautiful architecture... I've traveled quite a bit and could see myself temporarily living in other places, but Chicago is definitely where I want to spend my days!

Like Lewis Black once said: "The easiest job in America? Weather guy in San Diego, California . . . "

Tell ya what though, kids - Boston is frigging unreal, probably the best college town we ever thought up. I love the midwest (ie home), but it might not get any better than 500,000 college kids getting smashed semi-regularly in the academic center of the nation.
