MUSIC PET PEEVES (Videos Too)

I was just driving home listening to Kelly Price's first CD and it reminded me of some things that I STRONGLY DISLIKE about music.

1. "Interludes": Especially those "dramatic ones, i.e. Total's first CD -- the take a dump one.

Also Ashanti's CD, who in the hell told that cow to have 5 "skits" on her CD. If I want SKITS, I will turn on SNL, MAD TV, Living Color, etc. The only Interlude that I liked of Kelly Price's is her Star Spangled Banner one on Mirror Mirror

2. "VOICE MAIL INTERLUDES": Remember Mary's on her first CD, well Ashanti has one too. BOOOOOOOOOOO, I have my own voice mail messages to listen to.

3. CDs that do not contain the lyrics. Some artists NEED the lyrics because they sound like they have a mouth full of crap or they talk too fast for me to understand.

This is all I have for now, but why don't you share to jog my memory?

Oooo, you know what I hate? When I'm making a mix cd, say of love songs (which I looooooove to do) and right at the end of the song is an up-beat interlude to that completely breaks the whole mood

!!!!! Ginuwine does this alllllll the time. I love G, but when I'm trying to be serenaded to sleep, I don't want to wake up to a party, right after I'm out.

I can't stand to see a guy in a video take his shirt off and then have a "bird" chest.

Or seeing Fat Joe on MTV with his shirt off.

That's ridiculous.

For all of the men reading this post, when you do that Puleeeeeze be in shape. If not "TANK TOPS"!!!

I just though of another one: ugly people who have no higher goal than to be AAAALLLLLL UP IN THE CAMERA. In the words of Juvenile, back that thing up!!!

Songs that cut off with no warning. Musiq's has one or two like this. I prefer the fade out.

I agree about all CD's needing lyrics.

Also, every R&B song does not need a rap or talking part in it. Not every one.

Songs that are the epitome of what they are singing about. Only example I can think of (lol) is Toni Braxton's Another Sad Love Song. I mean, how you gone write a sad love song about another sad love song???

That's all I can think of right now.

I hate Snoop Doggy Dogg! That sh*t sounds wack! What happen to his talent. He went from being #1 to dead last. His music is crap. Oh, He is the worst. he is horrible.

People talking or shouting in a song....DJ Clue is guilty of this.It's gets so bad I just turn the song off because I'm tired of him screaming Clue throughout the song.

Interludes that are better than the majority of the songs on the CD.112 is guilty.

Videos

P Diddy trying to revive his career by appearing in every video released.

Damon Dash dancing in everything.

One thing I can't stand is how record label owners must appear in all their artist's videos. Here is a list of people who exemplify that:

1. P. Diddy

2. Jermaine Dupri

3. Irv Gotti

4. Damon Dash (although I did like his stupid dancing at first)

The video is not about you so stay out! I mean you don't see Clive Davis all up in Alicia Keys videos!

Girl, Sean BEEN all up in the videos from day one. I have always been annoyed by that mess.

And another thing (remember Mary Lou Retton (sp)? lol)... Hidden tracks on CD's. Don't get me wrong, I like a bonus cut as much as the next person. Jill, I love you girl, I do, but the end of that first CD... DON'T DO THAT NO MORE!!! Why have track 44? That mess got on my NERVES, because when you shuffle the CD, you end up with some of those bogus tracks (20-43). Mess gets on my nerves.

Also, inside the CD cover... if a song is sampled, don't just tell us who wrote the song. Tell us what song the hook comes from. What if we can't think of it?? Tellin' us who wrote it won't do us a bit of good.

Yeah a hidden track is one thing but she has 14 tracks X 5 seconds each of my life gone forever. 44 must be her favorite number. Next time call the song 44 but do not do that isht again.

Videos-- All that scattered azz and boobies. My husband likes it, but I ain't gotta look at it.

Also, I am so tired of looking at the jeans pulled down to these rappers knees. PULL YOUR DAMN PANTS UP!! I DO NOT WANNA SEE YOUR DRAWS....

My music pet peeve is when performers (esp. rappers) have to tell everyone what label they are from. I could care less if you are from Def Jam, Murder Inc., Bad Boy, etc. You don't hear Alicia Keys sing "This cut is from the J Records crew." or Lauryn Hill singing about "Columbia Records in the house, make some noise!" If I want to know what label you are from, I will look on your CD or wait for the credits on your video to show!!
