Holiday Greetings for our Military

I am the Secretary/Treasurer of Families Attached to Military (www.famglobal.org), an organization dedicated to supporting our troops. As just one of the ways in which we show our support, F.A.M. sponsors a letter-writing campaign wherein letters of encouragement and appreciation, greeting cards and care packages are shipped to installations overseas for general distribution to the troops. Since the inception of this program two months ago, we have "adopted" twelve overseas installations from all branches of the military and we are continuing to add to this number.

Because of the need for letter writers, I am requesting that you become involved in this worthwhile project. If interested you can email me or visit our website at www.famglobal.org.

Please join us in putting a smile on the faces of these men and women by sending a letter or card of encouragement to them. Let them know that their efforts are recognized and appreciated, that we are grateful to them and proud of them. IT DOESN'T COST A LOT TO MAKE SOMEONE SMILE!

Thank you for your help; God Bless America and God Bless Our Troops.
Sincerely,
Wizzie

I agree, thanks for posting the information!

My ex was once stationed in an almost forsaken place during the Holidays [it was so secret that even he couldn't tell me!] and his unit was a recipient of a campaign just like this one. Not every serviceman/woman is fortunate to receive a note or package from home and loved ones...so it was the appreciation of a grateful nation that made Christmas special for them!

I encourage each GreekChatter to do this! Especially with the Holidays coming up, I'm sure it'd be great to show someone out there that you care.

2 of our recent grads are in the Rangers now. One's stationed up in Alaska and the other has done a couple of tours through Afghanistan. I'm sure other groups have a lot more but we were founded in '99 and we're damned proud of these guys.

Thanks for posting the link.

Wizzie,
I used to participate in the Operation Dear Abby that sent letters to "any soldier". From what I understand the any soldier letters were stopped after the anthrax attacks via the mail. Is the military allowing letters like this again?

USO

The link wouldn't work for me so I checked the USO website and there it said that the DOD has suspended all "any serviceman" mail. Is this still going to work? Please leave details.
