Over $1,000 for foundation in 2 hours!
Hey GCers! I just wanted to let you all know about the successes of our chapter in the last month or so.....
First and foremost, a huge congratulations for Kristin...she's the IPFW homecoming queen for 2002-2003....she was crowned by last years winner, another DG from our chapter....Kristin was the only greek girl chosen to run for homecoming queen and recieved the highest score on the prelim. round (extra cirr., campus involvement, gpa, and interview) The first ever IPFW queen was a DG and now with Kristin this year, we are on our way to a legacy.....Congrats and we know that you'll do excellent representing both IPFW and DG.
Second of all, I wanted to share with you all the success we had at our annual Mother Daughter Auction. Being a small commuter campus and a small chapter, this ends up being our largest fundraiser and this year, last sunday evening, we made over $1,200 in a few hours. Basically the moms and daughters get together and either make or buy a crafty items and then we have a potluck dinner and auction the items off to the highest bidder. Some of the more exciting auction items---a homemade Hannah signed by all the women in the chapter ($60), a handmade Blue and Pink Fleece Blanket with our Greeks ($100), a basket full of DG things (scarves, mittens, hat, stickers, small Hannah) ~$50, a handpainted hatbox with decopaged photos of our sisters on the sides $35......and those are just a few of the items.....Just a few items were $9 bucks and everything else was well over that......All of our money goes towards Delta Gamma foundation and everyone has a good time in the process. Some of the moms and the sisters get a little wrapped up in the bidding, and things can get very expensive very fast :-D
Congrats Delta Upsilon for the success of the auction and Congrats Kristin for continuing the DG tradition of Campus Leadership and successes.
ITB,
Mandie
