Augusta Nationals

Ok, I'm gonna open up a can of worms here.

Should the Augusta Country Club open it's membership to women?

I know there's been a lot of talk about it lately, and I'll give you my opinion when I see some of yours'.

Well its a priavte club. If it's ever ruled that women should be allowed to join in court then I bet fraternities and sororities would be next forced to allow the opposite sex in. Of course women are capibale to play. If you force a priavte orginaztion or club to admit people they don't want then whats the use of a private club or org. I think its wrong they are trying to force Tiger to take a stand on it too.

Thumbs down

Who cares! Women have much bigger issues than this one, so why waste the energy?

If the women want a golf club of their own they can start one.

yeah, its a private organization, they should be allowed to make their own rules. if they dont want women in, then there shouldnt be, its that simple. as far as the legalities of it go (and some of the lawyers or soon to be lawyers will know more) i saw a story on the news a few years ago about a private gym open to females only. this dude wanted to join b/c it was close to work and his apartment, but they wouldnt let him join b/c he was a man. i believe he took it to court and lost, the court ruled that it was private and could restrict membership to women. so it appears to me that there is already something to go on if it goes to court. but id like some of the law gc'ers to chime in on this...

Ok, after taking some classes pertaining to sexism and whatnot, I feel that the the movement has been reversed the last decadeor so. It's gone from equality of the sexes to women trying to overpower.

There are so many "women only" organizations and leagues, so why can;t there still be some "men only" organizations? I mean, there have been so many old school private organizations that have forced to open membership up to women, let us have some form of place for men just like women do.

Don't get me wrong, I'm for equality, but it has to be equal.
