Question for you

Should I make a thread wher we can post our resumes?

Or should I make a thread where we can post a link to our resumes . . .

The resume could be anywhere on line including in a jobs.com type of thing.

Which do you think may be more effective?

Thanks.

That would be a good idea for people who are interested. I, of course, would not participate b/c I am much too secretive, but that would be cool if some GCers could hook others up with jobs!

Maybe instead of posting resumes (for privacy reasons), we could just post our objectives or kind of job we are looking for. If anyone has info they can contact that person by PM. I'm just uncomfortable posting that much contact info here but I would send out my resume to someone via PM or email if they can help me out.

What they do on the monster job seekers forum (visited once, totally worthless, don't go) is post your resume in thread with the contact information either deleted or x-ed out. I'd be all for the link idea but it'd be harder to hid your phone number and stuff that way.

Anyway, for the brave and willing I think it could be an awesome idea. We could get some real feedback regarding structure, form, wording, proof-reading, etc.

I don't know if I'd do it though. You never know who's lurking around here and someone from my 'real' life could figure out exactly who I am.... Slightly scary.

I don't see the point of such a thread. I don't think that people will seek and find jobs on greekchat. Another idea is for you to post a thread with links to other websites that specialize in job matching and employment services such as monster.

Good idea, James - GreekChat could be a good networking tool if we did it right.

I like lionlove's idea - not posting your full resume, but just posting the type of job you're looking for, maybe a general level of experience and education, and maybe the region you want to work in. A lot of companies post available jobs on internal networks, and I've had HR people come up to me and say "Do you know anyone with experience in _____?" - so if you see a job listing that another GC'er might be a good fit for, you would send them a PM with the details. (And maybe end up with a referral bonus )
