Gold Diggers Get Comeuppance on FOX Reality Show
Mon, Dec 2, 2002 11:36 AM PDT
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Having not been burned enough by "Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire," FOX will offer up another relationship/reality show next month, but don't expect any happily ever after.
Premiering Monday, Jan.6 at 9 p.m. ET, the show features women who fly to France for several weeks in order to fight for a wealthy and desirable young bachelor, whom they believe to be worth 50 million US dollars. In actuality, the bachelor is a construction worker with an annual salary of $19,000.
The financial twist to the game will prove if the winner's love is for real or not.
FOX is not revealing at this time whether a marriage proposal is involved or not; however, Joe, who will tell his ladies that he recently inherited the large sum of money, will not be lying about any other aspect of his life -- including his education, experience and past relationships.
Less than six FOX execs knew of the project's existence when it was shot in France under the working title "The Big Choice," the network confirms. That was also the title the female contestants knew the show by.
Alex McLeod ("Trading Spaces") will host the new reality show, which will fill the time slot vacated by "girls club" for its seven-episode run.
