Fall Semi Formal Favors

Ok, so we're sick of getting the glasses, the vases, the candy jars (all different names for alcohol drinkware).

I've been looking through some of the catalogues we received, and I think the cutest gift would be a pink and white garter! One for the Phi Mu and one for her date.

Would that be tacky?

Our seniors last year (my class) voted to do garters for the Carnation Ball (tradition at our chapter that the seniors pick the favor...) but the other sisters didn't like it, so we got them for ourselves!

But anyway I think it's an AWESOME idea! But we thought that instead of garters for the guys, we might get handcuffs for them. (Just cause...what would a guy do with a pink and white garter..) But it's totally up to you! I say GO FOR IT!!!

hey~ i dont know about your chapter, but we usually have some sorta theme around our semi and formals-so we usually try to do something with that theme....a few years back our semi was beach/tropical/hawaiian.....and we had beach towels made up...with a beach scene and umbrella it was really cute... we get tired of t-shirts all the time!

For our semi last year, my chapter got keepsake boxes that had picture frames on the front. A lot of the girls put a picture of them and their date in the frame and then dried out the flowers from the night and put them in the box, which is a nice way to remember the night.

my chapter has gotten really sick of t-shirts! We're looking into hats or visors with Phi Mu on them, bracelets, or tote bags. Something different that we can use! Just no more t-shirts!
Speaking of t-shirts, how many do you all get a year? This year, we'll probably have about 7!

hey don't knock all of the t-shirts! when you are an alum, they will be the only thing you use! well, i also got a pic frame that i use. all of the glasses....i have no idea what happened to them! i think towels would be cool gifts! or maybe buring a cd with songs that sisters choose, make a cool cover and give it out...

Our party favors for semiformal this year are going to be zip up fleeces, shot glasses, and something else but I forgot what....I am way excited, except for that part about paying for my date's b/c they are rather expensive!

I LOVE T-SHIRTS THOUGH!!! Seriously I get made fun of by my friends back home in Omaha b/c of the ridiculously large amount of sorority t-shirts I have! But at my school (University of Missouri Columbia) Greeks make t-shirts for EVERY SINGLE THING THEY DO! It's cool though, b/c I love 'em!

A friend of mine attended a fraternity's semiformal and you know what one of her party favors was?

A THONG!!!

Yuck yuck yuck! I mean seriously, I am ALL for wearing thongs, but I wouldn't want one with "XYZ Fraternity, Snow Ball Christmas Dance" or whatever on it!! Yikes!
