Of course I was there Lynn! It was horrible...and I can't believe things got so out of hand.

We expected it to be an all out battle. You could tell that emotions were running high throughout the game. Bearcats bitched about unfair penalties...if you take a cheap shot at the QB, if you intentionally go for the QB when he's ready to take a knee to run out the clock...of course you're going to get called on it.

And this bullshit about the Hawaii Warrior assaulting the Bearcat? Please, it seems like the Cincy AD doesn't know the difference between intimidation and actual assault. I was at the game...I woulda seen that shit go down if it really happened.

I read the article about the game on the UC Bearcats' website this morning, and it's no surprise that UC's bitching about poor officiating...don't blame the officials. Blame the Cincy players who have poor sportsmanship and blame their coaches for not being able to control their players. I'm surprised Coach Minter didn't get ejected from the game.

I guess I have a lot to say because my Timmy left the game after one of the Bearcats took a cheap shot at his already injured knee. Timmy was wheelchaired off the field and though he couldn't walk on his own strength, X-rays and an MRI showed that there's no severe damage. I couldn't bear seeing him hurt again.

When one of your own goes down like that...expect all hell to break loose. I saw the replays this morning...Cincy players didn't care that Hawaii took a knee...they wanted to start shit.

I've read a bunch of articles about it so far--and I think one embellished the truth a little...yeah things were thrown onto the field and Cincy players threw stuff back...but there was no pepper spray.

I love my school and I have great pride in it...but last night goes to show that there will be no ALOHA for those who come into our house, intent on trash talking and unsportsmanlike conduct.

Next week...Alabama rolls in. Should be an interesting game!

I just read that article, and that Hawaii coach needs to take some Public Relations lessons. I cannot believe that the only thing he cared about was that they won the game! He should have condemned the fighting. But also the Cincinnatti coach shouldn't be pointing the finger. Both teams were at fault. In my eyes, neither team was the winner.

Coach Jones has never been a man of many words, but I believe that quote was heavily edited. In other sources, he condemned the actions of both teams and expressed concern over the QB. It's unfortunate that he's portrayed as the selfish coach in the ESPN articles.

Regardless of who threw the first punch...things should never have gotten out of hand.

What's scarier is if Cincy can win their next two games...they might [and that's a STRONG might] get the invite to play in the Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Day.

OMG... when our football team plays, no one expects them to win.. and when they DO win, we rejoice!

Sportsmanship has taken the backseat to the need to win. Schools have put so much pressure on coaches because of money... that translates to the players and just seems to have created a really hostile environment.

I don't think it's going to change unfortunately.
