Question The "sidekick" sniper

If it turns out to be them, what should they do to the 17 year old as a punishment?

Some reports say that depending on the county he may be tried as an adult

I'm asking for opinions (what you think), out of curiousity.

well that depends... I mean it seemsa as though the media is trying to persuade you to believe that this kid was brainwashed and malnourished...being that he is still legally a minor this could be considered as abuse who knows?

Personally I think, minor or not, they both deserve the maximum penalty allowed if found guilty. But ya know I think there is more to this case that the officials involved is unaware of. I mean realistically they didn't truly solve this case had Malvo not called in they would not have made the connections. These guys could possibly be through the Al-Qaeda network which is all over the world not just Afghanistan. Then there is the issue of copy cat shooters...who really knows?

Well in my opinion, I think he should be treated as an adult.
He's old enough to know right from wrong. There is no way they should allow him to get away with his part in the shootings.

I haven't heard any reports of a shadow shooter, and prayfully, it's just a rumor, because it has been a very scary 3 weeks in this area.

Prosecutors in Alabama plan to file capital murder charges against the two. The 17-year-old will be charged as an adult.

Well from what I read it is a toss up between Virginia and Maryland as to who will prosecute the two. Most of the killings happened in VA so VA officials want them to be tried there. The Death Penalty is law in both states. VA is second next to Texas in executions so... but MD currently has them in their custody. We will see... I'm just mad that they were black ok. Leave the serial killing to the white folks LOL... on the serious tip though I hope that justice is swiftly done here and none of that plea nonsense. He needs to die.

Actually, 5 of the murders happened in MD, and MD currently has a moratorium on the death penalty. However, this EXTREMELY liberal governor has announced that this moratorium WILL NOT affect this case....in other words...they are going to allow the death penalty to apply in this case......go figure! MD is going to prosecute the case first.

But IMHO, Black or not, BOTH of them need the maximum penalty allowed by law. They didn't care when they shot the 13 year old black child and the older black man, and the Hispanic man.... I can't understand why people have sympathy for them. They did the crimes.....and they need to pay!! Live(S) were lost here! Maybe I feel so strongly because I live in Hanover, VA.... and people in my community were ducking at the gas station..and everywhere else they went...but that's neither here nor there...bottom line....They both need to be held accountable. And we also cannot allow our youth to hide behind their ages when they commit vile acts like this! John Malvo's problem started a long time before this.....and it's not the Criminal Justice system that people need to vent their outrage on.....it's the way our youth are being raised!!!!!!!!!!! I'm mad that this kid didn't have a stable household, a REAL FATHER FIGURE, etc. When they get into the CJ system,....it's too late for sympathy!

OH I AM SO CONTROVERSIAL..............AND I LOVE IT!!

I think those 2 are soooo stupid that they deserved to be caught and punished for their crimes to the MAX penalty that can be charged...

And if the FEDS step in, it these boys--cuz that's what they are--will get that.

Several folks have told me that they should allow all the victims families to take guns and put these fools in front of a firing squad... However, given the natures of "some" of the victims, these lunatics, if they goto prison, WILL be taken out in prison. That's a definite.

As far as the little 17 boy, all the stuff that is coming out in the media is what ANY defense attorney would say to protect his client.

But what gets me is if they copt an insanity plea to get outta the death penalty... That's why the FEDS may need to step in... All the states and counties involved I heard will be meeting to discuss what would be the best course of action to adjudicate this case... I just hope the victims families has some feel as to what to say.

Either way, both idiots are lusers if the called Chief Moose back given that there were Military spy planes, all-points bulletins, and other high tech surveillances going on... Lusers!!! I'd sharp-shoot them to put them outta their misery!!!

But that's me...

From what I am hearing and reading, John the adult met John the minor (and I use that very loosely) at a shelter where they both lived. He decided to basically take the boy under his wing. I was just having this discussion with a friend of mine that is from the DC area yesterday, and I feel that black or white adult or minor, the 17 year old needs to be tried as an adult. These killings were acts of very senseless violence. It is just ridiculous all the lives lost because of the two. I still want to hear the reasonings behind all of this.

Personally, I think the boy is his son. From their pictures, he could have spit him out. Since he has had at least 2 ex-wives, this kid could be his secret love child from an island hop. hhhmmmm

come on over. I got enough room for you to train

I just read that if the different states couldn't come to an agreement of who will try who where that they will turn it over to the Feds and make it a federal case. It may rest on the dicission of John Ashcroft.

I personally believe that he had to have had some sense to know that his actions were criminal. I'm sure he would be tried as an adult...and he should be!
