Best QB of all time?
As I listen to WEEI (sports radio station in Boston), they started having a debate about the best quarterback of all time - Elway, Montana, Marino, and Unitas are some of the names that came up.
So, with the current state of quarterbacks in the NFL (Jeff George got signed for crying out loud), and with this debate in mind:
Who do you think is the best quarterback ever?
I'll weigh in with my sentiments later.

In my heavily-biased opinion:
Joe Montana
Then again, I'm a stark-raving-mad 49ers fan, so don't listen to me.

True, I forgot Favre (who I think is the best QB in the game right now). I was just listing a few of the guys who the sportstalk guys listed.
You could also add Fran Tarkenton, Terry Bradshaw, and Steve Young to the discussion, as well as a host of others.

I think Troy Aikman was pretty good. When he didn't have a concusion that is.

Shameless Plug for my Hometown...
I'm biased, but I think many of the best quarterbacks are from Southwestern Pennsylvania (actually, I've heard the area referred to as the "Cradle of Quarterbacks").
Dan Marino
John Unitis
Joe Nameth
Jim Kelly
Joe Montana

Marino's numbers are so retarded, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better 'pure' quarterback.
Sure, he never won anything . . .

zntke...when didn't Aikman have a concussion? hehe.
I'm voting for Favre. He's my guy. Of course, this is an extremely biased opinion considering that my family is a shareholder/owner of the Green Bay Packers. He's still amazing though.

Being a Wisconsinite, my vote is obviously for Brett Favre with a close 2nd, 3rd and 4th votes going to Bart Starr, Lynn Dickey and Don "Magik" Majkowski.
In reality though, Brett Favre will be the best QB to have played the game if he plays for 5 more years. Sadly enough, he is talking about retirement....thats a real bummer for us GB fans, eh.

Honestly, theres no one Id rather play in any game, season opener to the Super Bowl, than Joe Montana, hands down. No one was calmer under immense pressure, or more of a leader of his team. Hes the best of every world (leadership of Marino, accuracy of Young, comebacks of Elway, consistency of Kelly, temperance of Bradshaw, class of Griese)

I'm partial to the Dolphins so I'm voting for Marino.

dan marino
joe montana
steve young (gotta give it up to the south paw)
terry bradshaw

drew bledsoe (wish he was still a patriot, but has more heart than most in todays game)
and tommie frazier (not an nfl qb, but gotta show the former husker some love)

You left Favre off the list in favor of Drew Bledsoe? Dude...Favre has the biggest heart in the game. You do realize he has played in almost every game in his career right? Everytime I see him play he is out giving it his all.
Even last year when the Rams smoked the Packers in the playoffs, he stayed in the whole game and tried to bring them back somehow.
He is one of the greatest QB's ever.

drew bledsoe has played a significant part of the season before with a broken finger on his throwing hand just to get the pats to the playoffs, even with a broken finger he was better than his back up, most players wouldve sat out with a broken finger on the throwing hand, he toughed it out
