Greek Rank
After reading what GLO's were at everyone's universities, which one has the most? I know that PSU had the most that I saw.

Penn State & Illinois
Either Penn State or UI has the most chapters overall, and it probably shifts back and forth as chapters come and go. However, fraternity chapters at Penn State tend to average in the 40-50-man range, but they tend to be much larger at U-Illinois. Both campuses feature some of the most impressive fraternity housing in the country. In the south, U-Alabama probably has the most. In the west, no question: U-Arizona.

University of Tennessee, Knoxville is up there as well with around 40 total. Though, that number ranges a bit with different GLO's getting in trouble

I had no idea U of AZ was known for having so many chapters!! I think we have 44 NPC/IFC then we also have a bunch of NPHC and other service orgs and such, but I thought every school with a good greek system had that many. Well, go us

I actually looked at the numbers for some of these campuses, mostly in the west, because that is where I am. I was suprised to hear that people think that UA has the biggest greek system. I go to WSU and I know that we have one of the bigger Greek Systems in the West, so here are the numbers, and this includes IFC, PAN, NPCH:
Arizona State University - 39
University of Arizona - 44
University of Washington - 49
Washington State University - 51
Berkeley - 55
And just for kicks I looked up Penn State - 83
 WOW!

right now penn state has the biggest greek community in the country in terms of number of organizations. in terms of number of people in the greek community i have no idea, i think we're somewhere in the upper middle? not sure though. some of the organizations are pretty small, others are fairly large.
point of info: the list on the other thread also doesn't count all the service and greek honorary orgs.

IU currently has 19, but we have been working on the 20th, Sigma Sigma Sigma, for a while now! Hopefully soon!

Penn State
I know earlier it said that PSU had 83 but according to the penn state greek directory we have 80 IFC and PanHel greeks, not including NPHC. Our greek website is really really old.

As for the Greek system at the UA we do boast that we have the largest Greek System in the Pac-10. This is based on number of chapter and number of people in those chapters. Sororities average somewhere around 130 members each and the fraternities range from about 60 to over 100. Greek life at the UA is big and we had a CLC from Berkely and she told us that greek life there was small and not extremely popular. Just a little FYI
