Blonde or Brunette?
For all of the girls that have lived both the lives of a blonde and a brunette, which one do you prefere?
Heres the story.... I am naturally blonde, but dark blonde, so I bleach my hair. After months and month of looking like Malibu Barbie I decided to tone it down and go close to my natural color with a rich caramel shade. Great idea, but my hair turned a grey/lilac color So the only thing left to do was go to a medium brown.
So after only two days of being a brunette a lot of people have complimented my new look. They have added that it makes me look much more approachiable (as in "non-bitchy") and also added that I have the girl next door look.
So for all you who have lived as a blonde and a brunette what treated you better? Also which do you think made you look better?

There went our short-lived romance James. Ah well, the truth always comes out in the wash, lol.
As for me, being in Florida, I hate seeing all the girls who think they have to be blonde in order to be pretty. I personally think dark hair (on guys and girls) is more attractive. I suppose it just depends on your own taste.
P.S. I like the way you phrased the question, Allie. So many people worry about how to please others and they forget how they feel about themselves.

Blonde for hookups and girlfriends and brunette or darker hair for wife.

I'm a natural brunette but started dying it platnum blonde about 4 years ago. Last week I went back to brown with some reddish tones in it and have gotten soo many compliments on it. I liked the attitude associated with blonde but brown seems a little more 'nicer' as I was told.

I'm a blonde and LOVE it. It gives you a great confidence for some strange reason, like you're SUPPOSED to be having more fun!
But I really prefer dark haired guys...One of my exes was blonde and people called us Barbie and Ken (I didn't think Ken was blonde!) so it sorta gave me a phobia about the whole thing. I also prefer blue eyes, but I don't NOT like a guy because of either!

I'd much prefer to be a brunette (which is good, 'cuz I am one). I just get suspicious when people dye their hair a colour that is obviously not theirs. For example, Bette Midler is lousy as a blonde. There's a particularly annoying girl on campus-- Greek affiliation withheld-- who's a brunette and dyes her hair blond. Point One: her dark eyebrows and complexion totally give away that she's not a natural blonde. Point Two: she needs to get her roots done far more regularly than she does. Combine the two with the fact that she wears stage level makeup every day and she looks like a Kewpie doll in a wig.
But back to the subject, I'd say go with what makes you happy. Try brunette for a while and see what happens. You can always switch it back. That's the beauty of having an in-between shade. It doesn't look really weird when you fluctuate.

I second the complexion notion. If you are naturally very pale, blonde works best; however, if you are lucky enough to be darker (olive skin) then go with a deep chocolate brown. I am very pale and have red hair and have wondered if going blonde would be fun, but I am too scared to try.

I've Done it All...
I naturally have dark brown hair (which matches my dark brown eyes and dark brown eyebrows but looks a bit odd with my very, very pale skin. Hence, my college nickname "Snow White") but have dyed it several different colors.
Went blonde a few times which you think would work with my pale complexion but instead it made me look even more ghostlike than usual! I was so happy whenever I would have it dyed back to my normal shade but eventually I'll get the itch again and try another go-around at being blonde for awhile.
I do dye my hair now, but only because the summer sun gave me red highlights which I HATE!!!!! Makes me look like a Sun-In victim!

My hair is naturally very dark brown, but I dyed it blonde this summer and I really do think they have more fun. And when I came up to school here, everyone thought I was naturally blonde, so when I showed them the pictures of me as a burnette they told me that I looked better as a blonde. Who knows if that is actually bc I look better as a blonde, or bc they prefer blonde hair color over burnette.

Thankfully I get the best from both worlds, my hair will be med-blond in summer and a dark brown in winter. But I prefer the blond, ya just get more attention that way
