Problem looking for work?

Seriously, while you are searching for your career job you should consider looking for a job to hold you over in the financial sector until you find what you are looking for. I'm talking about working for a bank, a financial institution, an insurance underwriter, or something in an investment firm.

There are a lot of entry level positions that pay a decent amount of money, enough to survive on. The kicker it that for a lot of these positions don't require any previous experience. Mainly because a lot of these companies/firms train their employees after they are hired.

Oh yea, not to mention that places like these are always looking for people to work and fill the entry level positions. It's just something to think about so you aren't stuck working at McDonald's while looking for a job in your field.

Ahhhh, but not that easy. These positions have gotten pretty competitive. People who have 4.0 GPA's haven't had much luck finding a job so they too have been looking to financial institutions to find a career. We have to compete with people like that too.

This is true, but my point is that there are more postitions to compete for in this sector...as compared to other sectors. If also helps if you have a background in business, like some sort of business as your major.

It's just another option for people to look at, thought I'd throw something out there because I know there are people hurting for jobs. I guess I just feel bad because I'm constantly getting calls from headhunters contracted by other banks asking if I'd like to leave my position at the bank I work at to come work at another getting paid more or whatever. It's like, I'm getting offers I don't want and other people can't find a job....
