Your LXA (LCA) Shingle
I was wondering and posted somewhere else if you have your original shingle of Initiation?
I found mine and wondered who signed yours?
F Lee Tuttle GHA.
David Johnston GHG.
Now that I was reminded, it will never remain in a box, but a place where I can see it daily.

Mine is hanging on my bedroom wall in a matted frame with a current and a pre-1939 CoA hanging beside it as well. As for the names on it, I cant read the signatures, and cant really check to see who it was at the moment, I didnt find the Grand High Zeta in my pledge manual at all, so i need to check the site. It was signed in 2006 and has the GHA & GHG signatures.

I would guess that Ed Lenord was GHA at that time but not sure who GHG would be.
I am sure that someone like jono or Mike Raymond can find it!

It looked like Ed Leonards signature, but i didnt wantto say it without some confirmation. The GHGs looks like Gregory E S????.
I know we tecnically dont have a 'pledge' manual, but it seemed to long an draw out to say New Associate Member Handbook. It would kinda be like calling a flower by its scientifc technical name, rather than just saying you were talking about a rose (or any other flower).
Oh and to answer your sarcastic question with a sarcastic repsonse, I have the pledge manuals from the following groups:
Alpha Kappa Alpha
Alphat Tau Omega
Beta Theta Pi
Delta Gamma
Kappa Delta Rho
Kappa Sigma
Pi Kappa Alpha
Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Sigma Chi
Sigma Nu
Theta Delta Chi
Theta Kappa Nu

Thanks EM, cause thats exactly what it says.
John, I have the Ivy Primer of AKA and it is basically similar t any other pledge manual. It gives a basic overview of the organization, and provides questions to be answered, as well as what they do and how they operate. BTW it also from the 70s, so its not exactly up to date, but you can get a good idea of the organization from it.

Mine is currently packed up with some other stuff. The only Lambda Chi memorabilia I currently have hanging on my den wall are my 5 paddles (4 from little brothers and 1 for being class educator), my shot glass and my candle. Even my letters and party shirts are now put away. I was thinking about a few of them and wondered how funny it would look if I wore a shirt today that is advertising a food drive from November of 1995.
Wow... I got that shirt at Fresno State University the day the Packers beat the 49ers in a playoff game. I should pack that up with my shirts from UNM and Univ. of Arizona since they're all gone now.

**BUZZKILL ALERT**
Shingles is caused by the same virus (a type of herpes virus) that causes chickenpox. Even after you're done with your childhood chickenpox, the virus will always live in your body, only to come out later in life. When they come out of their dormant state, they cause the painful lesions called shingles. Though there exists a vaccine for the prevention, the only treatment is antivirals to control the breakouts.
Some bacterial and fungal STD's (such as the one that GZ undoubtedly experiences) can be completely cured by antibiotics, though the viral STD's (viral) are there for life (like Herpes and Hepatitis!)
The more you know!!
**BUZZKILL DONE**
What is an LXA shingle though? Is this just a coat of arms signed by the I-team?

From the looks of it I would say they are talking about our initiation certificates? I have GHA Ed Leonard and GHG Gregory Smith.

LOL, funny Adam!
You pill learning pusher are correct!
The shingle is correct with the Seal, Name LXA/Yours saying you are a duly initiated member of Lambda Chi Alpha.
What you are refering to Albert was as it used to be called a form 25 and was signed by the I-Team and all Brothers in attendance for the super special occasion.
I hope we never never get away from that as it is a special thing to have always.

I prefer Form 24 though... The previous Φ had a jpg of it that we keep on a flash drive - our last ELC wanted and got a copy of it - he had never seen it on computer before...
Sooo, shingle is another name for initiation certificate then... well it's not surprising that I still have my original (Fall 2006); my GHA and GHG will be the same as Trey's then.
