				do you doodle? read this.....

You may think doodling is just a way to kill time, but all those drawings can actually tell you a whole lot about yourself. What you draw can be affected by your mood, so examine your doodles over time to figure out which ones you scribble most often. Then check out the following analyses by the "doodle experts" to discover hte hidden meaning in your drawings.

Circles
Drawing circles indicates that you're a total people person. You're honest and up-front, and you like to hang out and gab with your friends. If your circles are entwined (think of the Olympics symbol), you're more of a loner than a party animal, or it could be that you're trying to hide a secret. If your circles form a pattern, you're frank and open; if they're all over the place, you could be showig your creative side. But if you fill them in, it might mean that you have a hard time being open with people because, like your drawings, you close yourself up.

Boxes

If you draw boxes--themost common doodle--chances are you're no slacker. Rather, you are creative and motovated, and you like to get things done (no matter what others may say to the contrary). However, if you fill in your boxes with other boxes, it could mean you're feeling frustrated, as being boxed in.

Stars

Scribbling stars is a sign of ambition--it implies that you're reaching for something. If your stars are symmetrical, it means you are analytical, creative, curious--and a little full of yourself. Asymmetrical star points, on the other hand, may indicate that you have a lot of excess energy that you just don't know what to do with.

Curlicues

If you find yourself doodling curlicues, you are definitely not the type who likes to hang out alone. Sketches like these are generally drawn by people who totally get into being part of the social scene. And what's especially interesting is that girls have a tendency to doodle curlicues a lot more than guys do.

People

If you doodle people who actually look like people, you're basically well adjusted. However, if you draw creatures that resemble mutated aliens rather than human beings, it's a pretty good bet that there's something bugging you big-time. Plus, the figures you draw usually mirror your own emotions. For example, if your doodle person is smiling, chances are you're feeling happy, too. And what if you sketch stick figures for people? It probably menas that when it comes to drawing, you feel like a dud.

Lines

If your doodles are straight lines, you're direct and forceful, and you have tons of energy. However, drawing zigzag lines (like lightning bolts) or a straight line over itself again and again usually indicates that you're majorly pissed about something in your life, but you can't quite put your finger on it.

Triangles

Doodling triangles suggests that you've got your head on straight. You are a fair-minded, clear-thinking person who likes to hear all sides of an issue before making a decision.

Arrows

Drawing arrows indicates that you're obsessingabout something. If they point down or left, you may be preoccupied with the past. If they point to the right, you're looking toward the future. And if they point up, you may feel stuck in a rut.

Houses

If you're into drawing houses, most likely you are not thinking of running away soon. These are generally the doodles of people who are into comfort--they're content with their home life. If, however, your house doesn't have doors or windows (similar to a prison), you may be feeling locked up and trapped.

Animals & Vehicles

Chances are you're looking to bolt--from a person, place, or situation. The faster the animal or car that you draw, the more anxious you are to get away.

Flowers

If you draw flowers, you're a sensitive, nurturing type. It's also a good indication thatsomeday you'll make a great parent, which is why you're probably every kid's favorite baby-sitter.

Eyes

People who doodle eyes are often curious types, or they may simply be looking for insight. If the eyes you draw look to the left, you are probably thinking about an event that's already happened. If you draw eyes that look to the right, you're focusing on the future. And drawing closed eyes suggests that you don't want to deal with a problem or that you're not facing up to something about yourself.

Spiderwebs

Drawing designs like these could mean you feel trapped--you're unable to break free from an entanglement, such as a bad relationship or a job that you hate.

Your Name

It may seem pretty self-centered, but doodling your name repeatedly is a sub-conscious way of giving your ego a boost. Maybe you've been feeling down on yourself or you just crave more attention from the people in your life.

Waves

You're cranked and ready to go! Since waves signify motion, drawing them suggests that you're dying to make a change ot to get out--of town, of work, of any situation you don't feel comfortable with.

Doodling Style
Not only what you draw but also how you draw can hold clues to your personality. Light pen pressure may mean you're laid-back, while heavy pressure might indicate frustration. A three-dimensional doodle--a cube, for example--suggests that you're fair and objective. Frequency is another factor. If you doodle a lot, you're probably artistic, especially if the drawings vary. However, doodling the same thing over and over may have more to do with a lack of confidence in your artistic ability than in a lack of creativity. And if you draw on places you shouldn't, you may just be blowing off steam.

I am an eye drawler...what are you?

I'm a heavy doodler - to the point where my notes in class usually have a border of wack doodles. I love it - sometimes i'll just space out and end up w/ fewer notes than drawings. As per what i draw - almost everything up there; triangles, circles, letters, just all sorts of stuff. I really get into it, hahaha

			DBPM04,
That's really interesting. Thanks for sharing. I doodle quite a bit. I doodle flowers, faces, and my name...but I always saw it as practicing my signature. I guess you learn something new everyday!

This is really interesting. I am indeed a very heavy doodler. I usually do my name, caricatures of rhe professor, cubes or lil animals. As a psych major I found this very intriguing. I never thought of my doodling in this way before.

good observation, or maybe it means you see what u want or you see things for what they really are, I think (just a guess) that the eyes looking straight u see everything that ur looking at for it's beauty and uniqueness.Oh well just a guess

I draw circles, curlicues, flowers, my sorority symbols and my name... the descriptions kind of do fit me!

Oh, I draw hearts too... maybe they mean that relationships are important to you... or just that you are sappy!
