Greek Life at American U.

Hi! I'm going to be a freshman at American at the fall and was wondering about the rush process and greek life at the school.. not much was covered on this topic at orientation or in any literature I received. If anyone has any information I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

A quick internet search reveals the following:

About seventeen percent of the AU student body belong to fraternities or sororities. Greek organizations have been a part of American University since 1933. For over 60 years, Greeks have contributed to academic excellence and the strong community spirit on campus. The Greek community provides friendship, growth, and leadership opportunities for the AU students who choose to be members. Many fraternities and sororities also offer community service or academic related activities.

7 fraternities and 13 sororities, what a sweet deal! I don't think i've ever seen such an excellent girl-guy ratio.

From what I hear of American it's alot like that, the girls outnumber the guys by a pretty hefty ratio. Gee, maybe they need a TKE chapter there after all...
