Fall Informal Rush - HELP

I am in charge of doing the one party my college has for fall informal rush. We have decided we want to do a "Survivor" theme. However, we want to do more than we usually do to set ourselves apart. In the past we simply got the girls together talked a little about our sorority, then paired girls up with sisters. If anybody has any ideas of things we could do to be unique and not overbearing and get the point across at the same time, I would love to hear any suggestions. Thanks!

1/ "Survivor" might not be the best idea for a theme. I have never watched the show, but as I understand it, the weakest contestant gets voted off periodically... as a rushee I would not like to feel like I might be "voted off" as "weak". Just have your rush parties, and offer bids to whomever you like... rather than have all your PNM's constantly worried that they might not make the cut.

2/ For "unique" just let you and your sisters speak for themselves. Don't strictly pair sisters and PNM's - each PNM has to meet the majority of the chapter before she'll feel comfortable joining.

I agree...Survivor may not be the best theme to do because some girls may take it the wrong way. If you all already made or bought decorations, then an island or jungle theme would be nice.

What my chapter usually does is have a specific focus for the different events: philanthropy, sisterhood, and scholarship. My most favorite is philanthropy night because we encourage the PNMs to help us out by making something for one of our local philanthropies (usually the Ronald McDonald House). When I went through Rush it felt good to do something like that because it felt great not feeling inferior and nervous around the sisters.

Hello-

Okay one of our recruitment parties is themed "survivor." It is our philanthropy night. it will be so cute. we are gonna make small first aid kits along with fliers and important phone numbers on campus, and a whisle (sp). It is gonna be really cute. But if your talking about after the show I would agree probally not the best idea. Gives the PNMs the idea they are gonna be voted off the island (lol). Dont they have enough stress. Good luck.
