Just curious, can a white girl be in this?
Wonder what would happen if there were a "Miss Caucasion Teen Scholarship Pageant"?

There was and is
..................it's called The Miss Teen (or Teen USA)Scholarship pageant.
And as an FYI, there are also OTHER Miss ___________ (insert nationality) pageants that go on all the time. Do you have the same questions for them as well?

First off, Miss Teen is not "Caucasion Only". Secondly, yes, I do pose the same question for "them" as well.
Dick Clark would be slaughtered for hosting the "Miss Caucasion Teen Scholarship Pageant".

Hey SigmaChiGuy and Neicy81! How's it been? I rarely see you two, unless racial issues come up, lol. Too funny.

Of course in this (and other) national public pageants, other ethinicities have been ALLOWED to try and participate. Also In recent years, other ethnicities have been embraced in that pageant. Sorry, I had written that, but I must have editted it out to post something else.
Again, SigmaChiCard, why the concern? As I stated before there are other pageants (privately sponsored, mind you) that are race specific for other ethinicities as well. The Little Miss Italy pagaent is held here in my area. Around St. Patrick's Day, there is a pageant for Irish women as well. Are these not pageants " for white girls" (to quote you from a previous post)? Almost every ethinicity has some type pageant for their particular nationality, not just minorities.
Dionysus,
I feel you on your statement. Makes you wonder which GC'ers alter ego is he?

Miss America: Vanessa Williams, 1984, Debbye Turner, 1990; Marjorie Vincent, 1991; Kimberly Aiken, 1994; Chelsi Smith, 1995
Miss USA: Carole Gist, 1990; Kenya Moore, 1993; Shauntay Hinton, 2002
Miss Teen USA: Morgan O'Murray, 1999; Marissa Whitley, 2001
To name a few. I know there are more, but I only spent 10 minutes on the internet 'cuz I get to go home from work now!

Again KappaKitty (and to everyone else).........
What about the following race-specific pagaents that are for caucaisians? Where is your "outcry" against them? i.e The Little Miss Italy and the Miss Italia USA pagaent is held here in my area. Around St. Patrick's Day, there is a pageant for Irish women as well (The Miss Mayo pageant). Are these not pageants " for white girls" (to quote SigmaChiCard from a previous post)?
Almost every ethinicity has some type pageant for their particular nationality, not just minorities.
Why is it ok for those type of pageants to take place, but not for minority-specific pageants to take place?

FTDS!
Why? ya'll why?
Why do we have to act as if anything with an ethnic origin was established to hurt someone? Why can't folks admit that these OTHER pagaents, orgs, etc. exist because minorities COULD NOT participate because of their skin color? If we must ask questions, folks better go back and ask their ancestors why. You'll get your answers there. If it wasn't for so and so non -minority Smith, we would not need all of these SEPARATE entities.
Don't ask us why, ask those that ESTABLISHED ALL OF THESE pageants, leagues, schools, etc. for WHITES ONLY! We didn't create this game, we have done what we have done to play "YOUR" game.
You know this as well as I. C'mon now! Come with something better.
IN 1984, there was the first AA Miss America...whoop dee doo! When did this pageant begin?
In 1999, we had our first AA teen Miss USA...give the bird a cracker...whatever! That pageant was established in what year?
OH this is good...How many years did it take for a female AA to get the BEST actress Oscar? How many years? I guess that's why we have the NAACP Image Awards and the Essence Awards?
I guess we had to CREATE OUR OWN, BECAUSE "YOU", speaking generally (W.A.S.) DID NOT WANT US. You didn't see us as HUMAN BEINGS for the longest, You DIDN'T SEE US WORTH ANYTHING, YOU DIDN'T THINK WE WERE WORTHY... SO we had to create our own.
Is that a problem? Don't come at us, go to those IN CHARGE! WE don't want to hear it!
EDIT: uhhhh, I cannot speak for all minorities, but I'm speaking for myself.
Remember: YOU= those WHITE people in charge of the "laws of the land" back in the day. I do realize those on GC did not have anything to do with it, but still....THESE PEOPLE, if they haven't died, DO EXIST....so ask them!

Oh, and while you are searching, please post when the Miss USA, Miss America, Miss Teen USA, pageants were founded. There is much to say about something being around for over 50 years and finally in the year 2002, it has become "minority-friendly".
Again, my question to everyone that is sooo adamantly against the Miss Black Teen USA pageant, why is it ok for other ethinicities to have pageants, but not for minorities to have them?

Just as a point of reference, it was SigmaChiGuy, not SigmaChiCard who made the comment

Interesting.
I used to think that the idea of "minority-only" anything was completely unfair but I've kind of given up on that line of thinking. Is there really anything wrong with a blacks-only beauty pageant? If a white girl wants to join a pageant, it's not like she's being entirely excluded -- she can just go join one of the many many MANY pageants without an emphasis on race. And men can't enter the Miss America pageant, but do we hear them complaining?
However, I do think that the creation of blacks-only/Asians-only/Hispanics-only/women's-only/gays-only ANYTHING is kind of sad, because it minimizes the concept of unity. For example, if there's a Miss Black Teen America pageant, that means that less blacks will be entering the Miss Teen America. If the trend continues, that means eventually there will just be a lot of divisions of society, by race or religion or sex or sexual preference or whatever -- instead of having one integrated society. Emphasizing the differences between different cultures is important, but IMO what is more important is emphasizing what we have in common.

Unity? LOL. I am glad you called it an "concept" because that is all it is. Not reality.
As far as the pageants, I swear. People will pick over the smallest of things. I heard a white woman ask why Blacks get "a whole month" and whites get nothing. Hello! Whites get the other 11! lol
Look at the contestants and the overall demographics of the pageants in place. Do you think it is because Black women do not enter? Hmmm...
