Arrow Badge Scare

The other day, I went to the Rho Chi deaffiliation ceremony and when I got home, my badge was no longer on my dress. Luckily, it had just fallen off in my car...but could have easily disappeared if I had accidently kicked it when I opened the car door.

Does anyone have any lost badge stories?

I thought I lost my Badge last Spring and I was devastated because it was our 10 year Anniversary. My Badge, chapter guard, and dangles were gone.

Luckily, MaiLy (hawaiiagd) came to the rescue and gave me a Badge that she had rescued off of eBay.

Two weeks after the reunion, I found my Badge, with guard and dangles intact. It had been in my AGD Tote Bag the whole time from last Winter.

I just recently had a scare!! I was down helping with Theta Sig's recruitment. I dont have one of the necklaces that holds your badge so I just latched mine on a necklace I had....

I went to an ATM to get money for breakfast. I grabbed my necklace and just about made the sis driving wreck by my yell!! We went back everywhere!!! This was my original badge, I am a charter member, and I could envision MY badge on ebay....the ultimate humiliation!!1

We went back to her house and it was in a crack in the drive way...I will never wear my badge on a necklace again until I can afford to get the proper one!!!

The one time I had a badge scare was when I was wearing it on Founders Day this year. I took it off when I left work and went to go work out. Worked out, got home and threw my clothes in the hamper. The next day I am cleaning my room and I notice that my badge is not in the box. I start freaking out and tear up my room. I look in the clothes hamper. Nothing. In all my bags, nada. I start coming to the conclusion that I left it at the gym. So I figure since, I'd be going out later to do errands, Ill just go back to look for it then. So I am about out the door and I feel something poking me. I look down to see what it was. On the front flap of my satchel purse is my badge. I forgot that I had pinned it there, just so I wouldn't lose it.

The only time I ever "lost" my badge was one time when I forgot to take it off my shirt and threw the shirt in the laundry basket. Luckily I found it before I did the wash.

I do have a funny/gross story about losing my boyfriend's badge, though. I have his badge on a necklace because we're pinned, and after I wear it, I usually put in on my nightstand. One time I got really sick after going out, and I was throwing up for awhile into a garbage can next to my bed. The next morning I felt better and cleaned up and threw the bag from the garbage out into the trash. That night, I realized that my necklace was no longer on the nightstand. After searching the floor, under the bed, under the nightstand, etc, I realized that it must have gotten knocked into the pukey trashcan the night before. So, there was nothing else to do but search through the disgusting trashbag for the necklace (I would never forgive myself if I lost his badge...it means almost as much to me as my own!). Luckily, being a biology major, I had a box of rubber gloves so I didn't actually have to touch the old pukey trash. So, I dug through the trash until I found his badge, then I put it in jewelry cleaner for about 2 days to try to disinfect it. I ended up telling him and he was kind of mad at me for losing it to begin with, but I told him that it proved my love for him that I would dig through throw up in order to find his badge, so he was ok after that. But now, I make sure all of my jewelry goes into the jewelry box after I wear it!
