Why rush Lambda Chi Alpha?

I am thinking about rushing in the following fall but I'm still very unsure. If anyone could tell me why they joined and what they have gotten out of the experience it would be a great help in my desicion to rush. Any imput would be greatly apprecitated.

I chose to rush Lambda Chi Alpha because I had never felt so at home with a group of guys...I have gotten so much from the brotherhood that I would never be able to pay it back, such as friendships that will last forever and many opertunitites at leadership. IM me at airpear53 if you'd like to talk personally about it.

Hey man, I know it was the best decision of my life! I just clicked with the guys at the house, and have made hundreds of friends during my 4 years here, between actives, alumni, and other chapters! Personally, to me, all nationals are the same, if you're coming in from an outside view. When I was rushing, I could care less what the philanthropy was, how many brothers had initiated nationally, whatever. I joined the chapter, and became a Lambda Chi.

If I remember correctly, I met a few guys from Drury a couple of years ago, and they were really cool guys. Good luck with rush, and let us know what happens!

Thumbs up

Hey Dodd, to give you an idea of LXA! I started a local in 1965 at Pitt. State U.

I was not totally satisfied with the houses on campus,SX,Pike,TKE, STG, and PSE (now PSK). We were interveiwed by LXA and TX. We decided after a 14 hr. meeting to go with LXA. It was the right decision as I have never looked back and still am highly active in our Chapter.

The Chapter at Drury Chartered us so have a little affinity for those Brothers! Met a couple of them at a Regional Leadership Conference in K C in Feb. Great Guys!

We have a saying in LXA "Your A Brother For Life". This means not for the 4-6 years you are in College.

I for one have met a lot of Great Brothers all over the country and call them often, not just from my Chapter but from Austraila to Rhode Island, From Canada to Texas and Florida!

While Corbin is right, to an extent, most Nationals are alike. But I think our International has more and does more than any other!

I tell many young men, I would like to see you as a Brother, but if you do not go LXA, at least go Greek!

The only thing you can do is look at ALL FACETS of the Fraternitys at Drury and make your decision from the plus and minus on the big cheif tablet!

I have seen pics of the new LXA House at Drury and some day want to visit it! We are trying to build a new house at the Pitt! Wont be as nice as Theirs, to bad!

What ever your decision is, I and all of the Brothers of LXA on the GC Site wishe you the very best of luck!

Keep on site and let us know what is up with you!

Check out the National sites try greekpages.com You can gert an idea from the web sites of the Headquarters and chapters of what they do!

I always like to look at the Coat OF Arms and Compare. I am Prejiduced of course!

In short, I rushed LXA because I liked the guys and got along with them well. I will stay for life because of my love for what the organization and rituals stand for.

Reason to Join?

Does drinking Jack Daniels on the rocks on the porch of our old house when a freshman during summer classes (summer 1993) and orientation count as a good reason to join?

I joined for the same reason as most of the others...well, maybe except Lenoxxx (for the record, it was pitchers of beer at our chapter ). Anyways, find an organization that is a good "fit" for you, and one that will challenge you to be your absolute best - your greatest period of growth as a man will come during the college years, so make it count, and make it fun.

Exclamation

In 1995 the brothers from Drury opened up their house and greeted a few of my brothers by letting us crash at their house (old one) while we were driving cross country back from Leadership Seminar, in Boring Green, OH. They were cool guys. Enjoied hanging with them. Good People.

drod,

i just want to put in my words of what i think every entering freshman could benefit from. if you are thinking about rushing any fraternity (especially Lambda Chi Alpha) what you need to do is go over to their house and get to know the guys. I entered college and told myself the age-old story of frats, and decided that going greek wasn't right for me. then, my freshman buddies started hanging out over at the LXA house. I wanted to find out what all the fun and hype was all about, so I accepted an invitation to a ping-pong tournament or something stupid. It was my first time over to the house...and when i look back at it, it doesnt really matter what kind of event it was, the point is, i got to hang out at the house with my new friends, and now my life-long brothers. It all depends on what you are looking for in your college years and in later life. if you want forever brothers that will always be there for you, rush Lambda Chi. and keep in mind, the obvious thing that the brothers are trying to do is get to know you, but it is inevitable that some of the best guys can go unnoticed, even if we are putting out invitations, cold-calling, and running naked through campus to get attention. So, when we see a new guy that is a bit interested, we try to harvest more interest, and also get to know him. it works both ways, drod. the main point...get to know the guys, and make sure they can see the qualities in you that you want them to know you by. in all honesty, being initiated into the Brotherhood is such a pivitol part of my life. i will never forget my semester as an associate member, and i hope you will have the chance to say the same. good luck, man.
