Question UW-Madison

I plan on attending UW-Madison and was hoping that someone from Madison could give me some information on Greek life there.

One of my best friends was a Pi Phi there. I can't give you specifics about the various chapters, but I would look into it. I know from my friend that greek life was big there and a lot of strong chapters. Good luck.

UW Madison

I am an advisor for Alpha Phi at UW... Go Badgers!

UW-Madison is a pretty good greek school. A majority of the greek organizations have been at Madison for over 100 years! Most greek organizations are on Langdon Street (the "greek row"). Sigma Chi has a beautiful new house that is a completely new model of fraternity housing (the top floors are luxury apartments).

There are 11 NPC sororities and 26 IFC fraternities that both have recruitment early in the fall.

For more information on sororities:

For more information on fraternities:
http://www.sit.wisc.edu/~ifc

Some big greek community events:
- Humorology
- Homecoming
- Trick or Treat with the Greeks
- Greek Week

There will be a CD-ROM with more information on Greek Life being sent to all incoming students sometime this summer... watch the mail! Good luck

Lori

I just graduated from UW-Madison where I was a Tri Delta. While I loved the Greek system, and boasts 4,000 members, it is still only 10% of the campus. However, quite honestly I do not know what I would have done with myself and my free time if I wouldn't have joined Tri Delta and the Greek system. It is one of the best ways to meet people, especially since 40,000 some students go to school here. I think that the best thing about the Greek system here though is that through this family I met so many great people. It was so nice being able to see a familiar face everywhere I went. I do not think that there seriously was a time when I went somewhere and did not know someone from either my sorority or from the Greek System. So all I can say is Go Greek at Madison. If you have any specific questions, email me at: ElleDelta3@hotmail.com

slightly off topic, but I'm so jealous of that new Sigma Chi house. I dated a UW Sigma Chi a few years ago, and that old house of theirs was a hole. I'd love to see the new one!
