The End Of The World As We Know It
I heard that this is the beginning of the end of the world. . .
Supposedly, there's major things that are going to be happening according to Biblical terms. . .
So far, they are scaring the crap out of me and I don't know who to believe. . .
They keep saying that we're going to get attacked because we're the only country that hasnt experienced bloodshed on our own soil.. .
So, what was the Civil War and American Revolution?
Is anyone else freaking out about everything that is happening?

After watching the horror of Sept. 11th in person, I came to grips with the fact that when it's my time, it's my time. Nothing comes from worrying about whether today may or may not be your last on this earth. Live, love, laugh and enjoy it.

WC...
I understand how you feel. This sort of thing has worried me since I was in elementary school. Don't get me wrong, I haven't spent my entire life worrying about it. It's just something that's always been in the back of my head.
I was especially concerned with this during the first Gulf War. Then there was the turning of the century, and now we're back in the Gulf (at war). Add that to this SARS that is spreading around the world, and it can really make a person wonder.
But just as xo_kathy said, worrying will get us nowhere. All we can do is live life for today. So live it well and try not to worry.

People have been predicting the end of the world for a long time well over a 1000 years. I doubt the end is coming.

Even if it was true...Why worry yourself with something you can't change?

Well, if this is the biblical prophesized end of the world with red suns, trumpets a blazin and angels coming down, all I have to say is HELL YES!!!
What are you scared of?
If the bible prophecies come true, that means there really is a God and the afterlife is real.
Then there's nothing to be scared of unless you're a bad ass sinner or something, then your ass is going to hell.
I, for one, would LOVE to be here for the biblical end of the world. It would validate everything I've had faith in for my entire life, and knowing that I'd be on my way to heaven (maybe after a quick stop in purgatory) to live in paradise with all of my passed love ones would be a comfort to me.
So I say, BRING IT ON.
I'm gonna live my life like there's no tomorrow no matter what. That way, when it's time to die, you can go with no regrets.

Okay, so a lot of people are talking about this and heres my $.02:
When I was in my religion class in HS our pastor came in to talk about Revalations. Of course a bunch of kids are going to get upset about the end of the world. Heres something to thing about.
We all know dinosaurs exist, and did exist for quite a long time. BUT, the earth was created in 6 days.
Biblical times are not specific. Where something says "days" they can mean, and do mean many many years.
So when something says "years" they dont mean years, they mean many many years. So there is supposed to be 7 years of world peace and then all the bad stuff. Well... we havent had those "7" years have we?
Just remember to have faith that things will work out.

Well that's no one's fault but yours, darlin.
Besides, I am a person that beleives as long as you are a good person, and have faith, that when it's your time to go, you'll be knocking on heaven's door.

So far I've seen the "end of the world" attributed to Nostradamus, Our Lady of Fatima, Pope JP2, and Mother Teresa.........all in the same week, swear to God. Last time I checked Nostradamus wasn't even affiliated w/the Bible, but whatever.
I also saw a Discovery Channel documentary about how the Mayan calendar ends in 2012, and GASP!!!!!!!THAT'S IT! WE'RE DEAD! Except I went and saw the Mayan ruins last week and had the most intelligent tour guide ever (he went to Princeton) who explained that ONE mayan calendar ends in 2012......Then they restart for another 40,000 years.
So, in short, is this scary???? OMG yes! It is so easy to read too much into everything and freak the isht out of yourself, but you know what?? It's not gonna do a damn thing. You can scare yourself literally to death, but last time I checked, you couldn't stop a plague of locusts, an earthquake, or SARS.I am scared too, but we can't be.
On another subject, remember the thread where I told you guys I was driving the bus in the carpool lane that was carrying us all to hell??? Uh......it's time to steal the gas, guys...... meet me in that place we talked about at 05:00.....see ya
