what CDs is everyone listening to?

I have two that I am just all about right now. They're both on heavy rotation.

The first is Pulp's "We Love Life." It took a lot of discipline to not buy the import from the UK -- but the US release has extra liner notes and two bonus tracks. Totally worth the wait.

The other is The White Stripes' "White Blood Cells." It is awesome! My cousin recommended it to me a while ago and I finally picked it up after hearing two of the singles Fell in Love With a Girl and 'Dead Leaves And the Dirty Ground.' Soooo good.

I've got a CD that my brother burned for me in my car right now. It's a mix of various Jimmy Buffett tunes, with most of them from the "Beach House on the Moon" CD.

In my car: DMB's Crash rotating with Counting Crows' On A Wire (disc 2) and the Eagles' Hell Freezes Over.

In my room: Mozart's Great Mass in C Minor rotating with Orff's Carmina Burana and Brahms' Ein Deutches Requiem (my favourite piece of music in exstance).

In the living room: Peter Frampton, live (a DVD; Peter Frampton is not playing live in my living room-- I wish!).

In the computer room: REM's UP and Tony Jarvis' Prasad.

At the office: The local progressive radio station, heavy on blues.

My next CD purchases will most likely be something by George Clinton & The Parliament Funkadelic and/or Sonia Dada.

I've been listening to two hip hop CDs I burned myself. One is just a random mix of stuff, and the other is a "sexy summer 2002" CD that has, well, sexy songs.

I must admit I DL songs via the internet... sometimes whole CDs. So most of the music I listen to is on my computer or in my car. With that:

Jimmy Eat World - I LOVE this CD. I recommend it to everyone
DMB - Busted Stuff
Mt. Eden High School Choir - Cloudburst (My brother's choir CD from 2 years ago)
No Doubt - Rock Steady
KC - wIr (This is the demo that one of my friend's gave me... I am hoping that when he becomes famous, this will be worth a lot of money )

Thanks, theyre all good bands, although i prefer Saves the Day's earlier albums, but how is the Get up Kids new one? havent had a chance to pick it up but Four Minute Mile is always in my stereo

PS: Everyone who likes Jimmy Eat World owes it to themselves to hear Clarity, their previous album, it is a masterwork and i think way better than the new one(although that one is very good too)

I know of the Mom of one of The Get Up Kids!!! She was mine and my brother's seventh grade math teacher. I actually have Something to Write Home About autographed by the band due to her.

Yeah, I agree about Saves the Day,
their one of my favorite bands, but their style flickererd abit. Through Being Cool, Can't Slow Down, and the acoustic Cd are much better. Most JEW and Saves the Day fans are just hip to the new cd's which have a more mainstream appeal. Clarity is my favorite JEW album. New Get Up Kids sounds like The New Amsterdams CD if you've heard of that side project. Kind of disappointed since my favorite CD of their's is something to write home about. I do love the new Glassjaw cd, but I still love some good pop-punk, emo anyday..I'm a diehard fan.
P.S. is the new Anywhere but Here EP re-release by The Ataris any good?

Yea sometimes i feel like it sucks when every band ive listened to for years is getting popular now, but its better than people listening to bad music. The new Anywhere but Here is ok, but i actually prefer the rawer sound of the old one. The Ataris are a band best experienced live, their new tour is them, Sugarcult(blah), Autopilot Off and Rufio.

Optimist Prime I like your style! I have the Vines CD too. It's okay -- mostly I just listen to the singles.

You should check out White Blood Cells by the White Stripes. Sounds like something you'd be into.
