SG&D Help!!!
Hello ladies! My chapter is fairly new (less than a year) and I have to plan the SG&D event for our retreat coming up. I'm at a loss as to what to plan and was just wondering if anyone could give me some ideas. If your chapter did a cool SG&D on your retreat, could you pass along what you did to help me out. SG&D Help
Michelle,
I am alum, and currently the Nat. Financial Assistant (ok, VERY different area!!), but I may be able to help you out. (I work in the psych field, so I can get my hands on all kinds of stuff!). First of all, there are some questions to answer. . .
1. What is your retreat for? (Rush, Sisterhood, etc)
2. What type of SG&D are you wanting? (rededication, education, health info, etc.)
3. What is your chapter needing help with? (Self esteem, morale, communication skills, etc)
Answering those questions will help you narrow down what topics are available to you. If you don't want to post details, PM me. But if you do post some info, the other sisters can help you with their ideas.
Let me know if I can help out any other way!!
In Sisterhood,
PsychTau

we were at a small appt in madison, wi and it was sooo small. one bathroom! too many women. anyhow, we went out at night and went bowling. it was alchol free easy and we needed to unwind after all the workshop stuff. it helped us bond.(and move) we all wore letters and it was us and all the middle school kids. we were screaming when we got pins down. it was great! it is pretty affordable. afterwards we did a candle pass. (it was dark, only one candle we all sat in a circle. (bring tissues!) we started the candle around the circle and the person w/the candle is the only one allowed to talk. people talked about family problems, relationships, and of course what was making them tense about ast. everyone knows how stressful a sorority it. it was complete silence. No one was allowed to bring anything up after it was said. period. it was great and really helped the stress levels.) don't know if that is what you want, but that was some of what we did.

Hey Michelle~
The "apartment" Little E mentioned was mine! Yes, it WAS too small, but it was free! You should see my new one...it is even smaller! No retreat is going to be held there this year!
Anyway, I totally agree with her about the bowling and the candle pass. Plus, she's my sister, so I gotta back her up! They are both great for different reasons. The candle pass helps you bond emotionally with one another, and people can open up as much as they wish because the candle is theirs to pass. And bowling is so fun, wild, and crazy...and a little competitive, so it makes a great bonding activity.
