I advise at a northeast school that is gearing up for recruitment right now, we are more casual as well and I generally see ladies coming through in nice tops or sweaters and jeans (usually dark wash, no holes), nice slacks, or more casual dresses such as sweater dresses. People are usually wearing boots since it's cold and sometimes snowing, but not Uggs - dressier boots. Nice jewelry is always good to wear and can be a conversation piece. And make sure your coat is clean and decent looking if you're going to be seen in it. Our sororities don't have houses or rooms so recruitment is all done in one building (different rooms) so a coat isn't a problem - but if you're walking from house to house you want to look cute when you come in. Good luck!
