I need to know if this stuff happens on your campuses, or if it is unique to ours.
We dont have a stongly developed sense of greek unity. Since we dont have houses, (they come in 2005) everyone displays their pride by putting their letters out in front of the busiest building on campus. Every now and then a set will disappear. No big deal. Upsetting, but it happens.
I am a little disturbed by what apparently has happened this weekend. The Kappa Sigs came up with a GREAT marketing tool they have been using since last year, wihich is a banner that goes over the street across from a really popular bookstore. The older more mature members of the greek community saw it and were like, "Damn, what a great idea...I wish we wouldda thought of that." and then redouble our efforts to out market them. But NOOOOOOO, someone on our campus had to cut it down in the middle of the night and steal it. I am upset (and its not even my GLO) about it because, I know they dropped like $300 on it, and it pisses me off that when one group is ahead or does something good, everybody else has to try to tear them down.
***WITHOUT ANY PROOF OR EVIDENCE I have a suspicion as who it might be.
Anyway, it just pisses me off. And our Barney Fife campus police dept always misses it when this stuff goes down. This happen where ya'll are? What did yall do to stop it?
*****Post edited 'cause it was dick of me to be so blaitent in my accusations. See folow up post further....
