Question serious question about fraternity rush

I plan on rushing this semester, and am really excited, and nervous about it. My question is that I am a theater major, and the school play will be during the same time as rush. Will my being involved in another activity on school lessen the chances of getting a bid?

BILLY FIRST YOU NEED TO REALIZE WHAT YOUR AT SCHOOL FOR. THAT IS TO GET A DEGREE. IF THE FRATERNITY YOUR INTERESTED IN DOES NOT REALIZE THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE YOUR BEST INTERESTS IN MIND. DONT GET ME WRONG YOUR PLEDGE SEMESTER WILL BE FILLED WITH EVENTS BUT SCHOOL DOES COME FIRST. SPORTS, THEATER, ECT. I WOULD DISCUSS YOUR CONCERNS WITH ACTIVES. JUST REMEMBER A FRATERNITY IS FOR LIFE CHOOSE WISELY AND GOOD LUCK.
IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS.....

Thanks KSig. That sounds like a good idea. How should I go about approching actives about this? Should I pull one aside after a rush party or something?

Cool

Actually that will probably improve your chances of getting a bid - Greeks look for people who are well rounded. Especially if you're in something visible like theater!

Your school will probably have some sort of meet the Greeks thing and then you can find out when the rush parties are for the fraternity you're interested in. You can bring up then that you have rehearsal/performance and see if you are allowed to come meet the guys some other time. Fraternity rush is a lot less structured than sorority rush so it might be less of a problem than you think.

oh really? cool. Thanks. I haven't heard anything about meet the Greeks, I think our system here is smaller than most schools. Some of the brothers told me to just keep a look out for signs and flyers and be sure to sign up at their table. Thank you again, I was stressing out for a minute.

33GIRL IS RIGHT ON THE MARK MOST FRATERNITIES WANT WELL ROUNDED INDIVIDUALS. EVEN THOUGH YOUR SCHOOL IS SMALL I'M SURE THEY WILL HAVE A RUSH WEEK. AT THAT TIME YOU WILL MEET ACTIVES FROM EACH HOUSE. THEY SHOULD BE ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT YOU, GETTING TO KNOW YOU. THIS IS THE TIME YOU SHOULD LET THEM KNOW YOUR SCHEDULE. GOOD LUCK. AS YOU CAN TELL FROM THE MANY PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD GREEK LIFE IS GREAT.
