Getting out and meeting people

How do you go about meeting new people (as in, to date)? I've had a hard time meeting new guys lately and, no offense to the GC men, but there seems to be a good-guy-shortage...you know what they say about men being like parking spaces...

Where do the people of GC suggest going (or doing) to meet new people? What do the men suggest?

I met my bf @ work and we've been together for nearly 4 years now! (Although we only worked together for about 3 months).

I think the best places to meet someone are places you enjoy going, anyway. If you don't like going to coffeeshops, then don't go there trying to meet guys. 'Cause guess what kind of activities they like? Yep- going to coffeeshops.

If you enjoy walking in the park... start going to a variety of them. You'll find lotsa guys that like walking in the park.

Ok, those were kind of lame examples. But my point is, don't go to bars to meet guys, and then be surprised if they go out drinking 4 nights a week. Your trying to find somoene with similar (not identical) interests. Oh- go to a bookstore or record store and then into the section(s) you like best. That's a good way to meet people with similar interests, too.
