Thumbs up Best Running Shoe

In your opinion (and from experience) what is the best running shoe? Mine are starting to wear and my legs always hurt so I need a new pair. Any suggestions?

Now that I've started to type, I don't know if they make running shoes, but my life would not be the same without my Ryka cross-trainers. I hate to run (I like exercise videos, I'm the star of my own living room), but I like the way Rykas fit. Their company makes shoes especially for women, and they fit me better than any other brand. You might want to go to Video Fitness and do a search, I bet it's been discussed there.

I hate to say it, but I got some of those Nike Shox, the funky looking ones with the zippers over the laces and the open heel thing in back that looks like springs...do you know which ones I mean? They are without a doubt the absolute GREATEST running shoes I have ever had. Amazing.

I also LOVE adidas! They are without a doubt the most comfortable shoes I own. Unfortunately last time I went shopping for shoes the adidas shoes I liked were out of my price range so I had to settle for a pair of sketchers . . . they're not too bad but adidas has an awesome line of products!

If your feet are small enough - try getting running/athletic shoes in boys' sizes. Just subtract 2 from your women's size to find your size in boys'. I wear an 8 in women's, so I wear a 6 in boys'. Usually the boys' shoes are about $40 cheaper for the EXACT SAME thing. I got a pair of New Balance for $39 that cost $90+ in women's. The only difference is the size on the label.

From what I know about running, I'm not sure I'd suggest that. Men's and women's feet are shaped differently, and a man's shoe might not fit properly to cut down on running injuries. For just-for-fun shoes, that's a great idea.

If your legs hurt, it sounds like you are flirting with shin splints. Make sure you get something with lots of cushioning!
The best running shoes are the ones that fit your feet best....
when I was in university, Asics Tigers always fit me best...now I can wear Nike too. What you should do is try on a ton of pairs and slowly weed them out. Go into the store and try on one shoe on the Left (say, Adidas) and one on the Right (New Balance)...whichever is less comfortable, eliminiate from your potentials. Keep going till you find the best pair.

My problem is that I have flat feet. It really is not too fun. I find that either wider women's shoes or men's running shoes do the trick. For me, that takes away shin splint problems.

I also find that men's running shoes tend to be cheaper- just not as pretty. lol.

I am a big fan of Saucony running shoes, but I also like Adidas too, but honestly Saucony is one of the best brands of shoes to run with as they're solely a running shoe company and all of their energy is devoted to that....

Try them....go to a fleet feet cause they'll fit you in what is best for you, and let you run on a tread mill to try them out.

I love Adidas. Why? Because they fit my feet well. I don't know jack about which is best for which sport...but go for what fits your feet. I used to sell shoes and I know that too often people buy on brand instead of comfort!

My sister, for example, has narrow feet and loves New Balance. I have wider feet and have found Adidas to work for me. Nikes run narrow also so I couldn't wear them cuz they weren't roomy.

Those are some things I know.
